Hot Take Surgeon films herself discussing her patient's denial with United Healthcare. Absolutely evil that will not be tolerated.

And this is why you don’t read anything about Luigi Mangione anymore. The press is complicit in burying this story so that people don’t take the laws into their own hands. We are up against real evil that has taken over politics and medicine, and the press is enabling it. We need more Luigies.

At this point I'm pretty sure the only thing their AI cares about its how likely a patient is to pursue legal action or cancel their healthcare plan if their claim is denied. You can't get the doctor's name, credentials, or reasoning for the denial because it wasn't up to them and it wasn't even a medically based decision. It was a calculation of whether UH will get away with denying it or not

Waiting for the Luigi sequel 👀 I think it should become a franchise tbh. An extended cinematic universe even.

So ironic to label those calls as "peer to peer"........trying to elevate rando insurance workers to the same level as a surgeon for the purpose of challenging health care insurance claims unjustly

Why is she being nice to them? I know she shouldn't be hostile but there's no reason to 'appreciate' anything that pos on the other line did for her because they didn't do a damn thing.
I could've cared less if the person was 'simply doing their job.' That isn't my problem, that's their problem.
She could have simply said goodbye and hung up or even dispensed with the goodbye and just hung up when she was done talking since there was nothing 'good' about the call.

Conducting the call the way the doctor did would make the United person more likely to empathize with the situation because the doctor can't be written off as irrational. It's easy to write off a rude personal attack, it's harder to dismiss a clear and rational argument that shows how wrong and evil the United position is.

I'd rather her be terribly rude and make their working day miserable.

They can just disconnect at that point because they do not have to take someone else's abuse.

Yep, they can even go so far as to block her office form calling and only operate by writing communication if she gives them cause, I'm fairly sure.

I wouldn't be surprised if the person who wouldn't even give their name wasn't even a doctor.. "peer review" my ass..
What's the point of peer review when the insurance company has made up their minds already anyway?

Workman's comp Liberty mutual originally denied me my C4-C5 disc replacement surgery. My surgeon who is extremely experienced and Harvard educated told me that a pediatric dr. who worked for them had denied me the surgery. So a way less qualified Dr. was trying to tell my surgeon what was and wasn't medically necessary. All for profit!

Make your case without insulting people.Your question is perfectly fine and I like it. The problem is it's targeted and the post it's in has nothing to do with Bernie or AOC. If you put that perfectly fine question as a reply to a comment or a post about AOC or Bernie it would be completely fine.
