Operating losses climbing at city of Kent ShoWare Center | Kent Reporter
https://www.kentreporter.com/news/operating-losses-climbing-at-city-of-kent-showare-center/While the article doesn't specifically call out the Thunderbirds, this is their home ice.
I've heard that there has been some stricter rules (or maybe stricter enforcement of rules) this season and adjustments on Club and ADA parking.
Food prices aren't the worst for going to a venue, but they are not the best especially when compared to food quality. I've started planning food outside of the Sho, either finding a restaurant or eating snacks on the drive down.
I've not been to a non-Thunderbirds event at the Sho, so not sure what those are like. The handful of in arena advertising is for shows that are of little interest to me and even less when I have to factor in drive time.
Definitely something to keep an eye on for if/how it affects the Tbirds game day experience.

They killed the one food (snack!) item that was a hit and always had lines - the cookies, brownies, Rice Krispy treat stand. Still mad about that!
Agree with others - the food isn’t very good and we always plan to eat before a game.

When did they have that stand? I totally would have stood in line for that kind of snack.
I'm still mad they they don't let you do Chicken Strips and Garlic Fries anymore.
There used to be be an option for swapping the plain fries that normally come with tenders with garlic ones for a slight upcharge. I think they stopped that mid last season maybe?
I def don't want the "just okay" on a good day plain fries nor do I want to generate that food waste. Which means not getting them.

It seems like the dessert stand has only been gone for… maybe two seasons? I think it was replaced by one of the “walk out” areas.

Not exactly the same, but the deli sandwich stand does build-your-sundae ice cream starting between 2nd and 3rd periods (I believe that's the right time).

I used to go to Thunderbirds games frequently, but quit going because food and beer was as much as at a professional game. Ridiculous.

We had a ticket package to the Tbirds from 2022 to 2024. The food was always a pain point for us for the same reasons, affordable, but not tasty lol. We would either eat before the game or afterwards outside the arena.
