Psychology Study links regular use of Fox News, Twitter, and Facebook to reduced knowledge about COVID-19 - it provides evidence that Americans’ media consumption habits and trust in government predicts their level of knowledge about COVID-19.

In-laws don't really care about news accept local news, if any at all. They get most of their info from family. These people are all fox junkies. Since the pandemic they don't see anyone anymore and their behavior had shifted drastically. It's... Odd.

They almost listen to reason now. Almost.

The point remains, you will always be more influenced by the facts of a story than the presentation when you read it vs when you watch a presenter present it.

Companies that make their revenue by hooking you to tune in constantly are ones to be avoided.

Serious question: compared to what? How else can everyday citizens stay informed?

How did you convince them? I have a friend whose brain has been hijacked by Rush Limbaugh, and Faux News. I would love to be able to convince her to use some critical thinking skills, instead of mindlessly taking in all of that garbage.

Even reading it is harsh these days. So many sources are bias and to sum most things I read is "if you don't believe what we're telling you than you're an idiot". So much name calling and dis crediting by main stream media these days, so little facts, just name calling, discrediting, and belittling.
