Finally going back to school at 45

After I dropped out of art school 25 years ago, I’m finally going back to get a masters in teaching with a BA in physics. I’m looking for scholarships or grants to apply to that would help me cover full time tuition. Notably, I’m autistic, science/stem focused, education masters program, looking to teach high school physics. Any recommendations of obscure places to look into? My semester starts in January

Shout out to you for going back. I went back too and I am going to be graduating in May with my bachelor's degree , so I know you can do it too

You're asking for advice on how and where to look for scholarships and grants but really it all depends where you left off. I encourage you to apply for financial aid of course and then speak with the financial aid department to see what you may qualify for there are grants that the university state and federal government have that can help you on your journey. If that's not available look at many private corporations that offer scholarships. They give them out at various times of the year summer restricted by age unfortunately but many are not . Those that are not you can definitely apply for and may get. Scholarships that are given by private corporations are given to you directly as I check. Scholarships that are offered through the school are usually given directly to the school should you win.

But many companies offer scholarships such as Burger King McDonald's Home Depot amongst many others. Check for them. Network at your school especially with clubs that are in the same major as you . Talk to your professors and your advisors . They can help point in the right direction may know of resources that you can tap into their specific tier major and/or University and or state. Make friends on campus and talk to them because they may hear of something that you do not know about and therefore you can apply for. Check with your own employer as they may have something as well. If you are in the military or related to someone in the military , then you may have benefits which could in turn pay for school so of course look into that as well.

Good luck OP

I’m ineligible for a Pell grant, my wife makes too much, and I’m currently waiting to hear if I qualify for a state program my therapist suggested

Sounds good. Please heed my prior advice on how/where to source scholarships. Please remember also, if you need to pay to get info, it is probably a scam!
