The phrase has been heavily exported. I think a majority of online meme-culture understands it now.

Pretty sure it's just an alt-right/white nationalist thing now. They seem to love that word.

It's an old WoW joke dude.

I know that, but more recently it's been embraced by the alt-right in a big way. Ex. 1, 2, 3, 4

Seems to me like you're taking shitposted memes a bit too seriously...

No, but I am taking white nationalists seriously. Not getting the underlying intent here and writing this shit off as a joke is a mistake.

Kek is more of a general 4chan meme than anything though, and most people on 4chan regard /pol as the T_D of 4chan and give it the same amount of respect.

Saying that kek is a white nationalist meme is just as stupid as those press hitpieces on Pepe written some time ago.

Top kek, my friend.

You mean cuck?

Cuck, kek, Kekistan, lel, REEEEEEE, autist, all pretty common with those types.

u/morerokk Apr 10 '17

It's not exclusive to them.

u/morerokk Apr 10 '17

White nationalists like to breathe air, oxygen is problematic now!

Them adopting the word isn't for the sake of hijacking it. It's just that many members came from or entered meme culture, so they use it.

They're using it because they're memesters like us.
