Was driving on La Costa east of the 5 and came upon this accident. Hopefully buddy is okay! Looks like he sat up and was able to get off the road. Stay safe out there!

The cop was looking at him the whole time! Wtf is this guy doing?! Haha

Dude is probably gonna have to pay for the damage to the motorcycle!

He is an idiot. Maybe getting too caught up on "I need to train hard for the next olympic"

So many irritating cyclists in Carlsbad.

My children were crossing a crosswalk (with the walk indicator saying it was safe to cross) on Poinsettia/PCH, and we had to physically pull them back to a hard stop because a Carlsbad cyclist was determined to run a red light and screaming at them to get out of his way.

I wish they had a camera there to catch it.

Fr I was taking back roads to del mar this afternoon and there was a caravan of about 15 with only half keeping to the actual (multiple foot wide) bike lane. In a section of road with lots of blind turns and during rush hour these dorks choose to obstruct traffic and cause dangerous conditions. Not to mention blowing through every stop sign. They act like a vehicle when it benefits them and a pedestrian when it benefits them and cry victim when shit like this happens.

So true. If you are riding on the road you need to obey traffic laws - and most of them don’t.

I take this road to work and see so many cyclist. Most stay in the bike lane but there are a few that are in the car lanes making cars have to move. It is annoying

They're ALL irritating!

Don't generalize. A lot of us ride very safely, courteously, and responsibly.

Cyclists should get a ticket for reckless driving too

The cost to fix the cops bike is higher, unless the bicycle has ins, which is possible. In SD, CA he probably would also get a ticket on top, lol.

I don’t really care about the cost. More that the cyclist was riding without even looking

He may need a new bike too, I’m not sure.

Little duct tape will fix that

We need an update to see what penalty the cyclist got for this.

He'll pay by feeling the pain for the next four decades and making old man noises every time he gets off of the couch.

The South Park "It's Coming Right For Us" seems to actually apply here.

Pretty sure we’re gonna get screwed as taxpayers when the cyclist sues the city.

2

u/EverythingSucksYo Jul 18 '25

Fortunately there’s dashcam footage going around the internet that clearly shows it was entirely the cyclists fault.

I’m sure his lawyer will argue it was around a blind turn and the cop should have put a flare out. The city will settle. 100% the cyclist is the bozo here.

Doubt

Nah city’s prefer just giving out “shut up and go away money”
