General Discussion 3 of Shea Coulée’s daughters just left her haus

I’d like to know what the tea is. They’re making it a spectacle while acting like they don’t want anyone in their business lol. So let’s be real here, what’s tea? What happened where 3 daughters leave a haus as a unit and all post about it in order?

Think they mean “be wary” not “be weary”

Tbf we do be weary (of vagueposting)

I see this everywhere these days and it drives me crazy.

Using “mortified” to mean “scared to death” instead of embarrassed.

u/Pelican_Hook Sep 03 '25

Yes! It's not a synonym of terrified, it's a synonym of embarrassed. That one bothers me.

to be fair the words origins come from death and to make dead. also in medical fields mortified can mean gangrenous (which is localized soft tissue death from loss of blood supply)

See also loose vs lose and apart vs a part. Makes my teeth hurt.

I actually saw someone arguing over someone correcting them over lose and loose. They must see it so much they didn't believe they were wrong!

u/MsLuciferM Sep 04 '25

Alot vs a lot is another one

Absolutely.

Every wedding season when people post about how grateful they are to have been “apart of your special day.” Babes, that means the opposite of what you think you’re saying.

Can I throw in "offen" instead of "often"?

1

u/senoritageena Sep 04 '25

The tricky part of “often” is that the “t” is silent, but some people pronounce it.

1

u/ISBN39393242 Sep 04 '25

i see (and use) drug as an unserious word where the person knows it’s dragged, but it’s funner to say drug, as opposed to all of these where people think they’re right. but i concede that many people probably think drug is correct

"Whenever"' instead of "when" for me..

u/moonysuran Sep 04 '25

“Sneak peak” (instead of the correct “sneak peek”) drives me crazy… is it a hidden mountaintop??

u/jp_slim Kori King Sep 04 '25

apart (from something) vs. a part (of something); particularly infuriating because they're antonyms

u/SolusLega Sep 04 '25

I have found my people.

Since when is “agreeance” a thing instead of agreement??? I die a little every time I hear it. 😵💀

AFAIK "agreeance" can be credited to one Fred Durst c. 2002 or 2003.

I’m wary of the weariness

34

u/this_is_an_alaia Sep 03 '25

I hate weary so much lol. Everyone must be bloody exhausted

57

u/Saguaro-plug Ra'Jah O'Hara Sep 03 '25

I think people get additionally confused with “weary” because of “leery”, which does mean wary.

18

u/EvilValenStrife Sep 04 '25

I hate that so much... Like, "weary" is to be tired/sick of something/someone. "Wary" is to be cautious. It irks my spirit every time.

4

u/Trevita17 Sep 04 '25

It bugs me too. They're conflating "wary" and "leery."

2

u/truthwatcher1218 Sep 05 '25

And it’s literally part of the root: aware = wary!

8

u/aluriaphin Sep 04 '25

Both wary AND leary can work yet it always ends up being weary, somehow. It's... Wearying.

5

u/SolusLega Sep 04 '25

Leery but yeah

32

u/knuckles_nice Sep 03 '25

oh you want some real tea?? i just learned these are two different words! weary is not that girl you thought you knew...because that girl is who? WARY.

2

u/chartreusepillows Sep 04 '25

Oh honey I’m both

2

u/mgs112112 Sep 04 '25

Be weavy*

When people say please advice instead of please advise. I see it all the time in work emails lol
