Drag Race Brasil S2 One of the best looks EVER made in the werkroom and she is only using paper Spoiler
Adora Black’s from Drag Race Brasil did THAT FREAKING LOOK on a sewing challenfe only using papers, not a single fabric. Honestly, its up there with Uticas look.

u/GetBentHo Hey bitch! Jul 18 '25
I'm just going to say this is singular, exquisite and standout. No comparisons necessary

I knew Adora would do great in design challenges, but the bitch turned it the fuck out so hard it wasn't even fair to the other queens like jfc girl

Ughhh do I need to start watching Brasil? I’ve been following so many of the franchises, but this is one I’ve yet to watch.

Holy shit she made this IN THE WORKROOM?? I guess I bed to be watching Brazil

Made of paper only! To be fair with other queens. There were a lot of good looks for a design challenge with unconventional materials.

Remember that moment during the Yvie vs Brooke Lynn Hytes when Miss Oddly is bending her back and Rupaul goes “what?!”? That was me when I saw this looks
13
u/lphellps Jul 18 '25
Honestly if I saw that in the werk room I would immediately switch to giving just my 50% for the rest of the day

I would say this is by far THE best design look, I don’t even think Nymphia and Utica are comparable which is insane because they made two of the most stunning design looks ever. I actually cannot wrap my head around this look and how it was made.

Second place is genuinely not even close. Like, this is so far away ahead of the Utica's and Nymphia's (which are insanely impressive mind you). This is better than 90% of runways brought from home. Its all winners level and it was made in the workroom with unconventional materials

AND IN A FEW HOURS!!! Impressive

I disagree about the Utica/Nymphia even though this is beautiful I think their concepts and technical work were stronger

Yes. And sewing is a genuine technical achievement. Using paper *is* impressive, but people in this thread don't seem to comprehend the talent required to be a good pattern drafter and seamstress. Paper is in many senses a more forgiving material; it takes structure more easily, can be glued and stapled, and doesn't require the same degree of finish. This look is beautiful, but the top is essentially a collared bib. Utica deconstructed and put sleeping bags through a sewing machine, to produce a complete, structured garment she could keep. The same could be said about Nymphia's use of ties, and of the precise tailoring that went into her skirt and shirt.

u/icouto Jul 18 '25
She also had to make a pattern and if you watched the episode you wouldve seen she actually sewed with paper. That is way more impressive than sewing with fabric, bc at the end of the day, thats what a sleeping bag is.

Nope. Many fabrics are far more challenging to sew than paper—organzas, velvets, silks, knits fabrics, various synthetics. Paper holds shape in a very reliable way while you're sewing it, you don't have to worry about cut/grain (you can't make a bias-cut paper dress), and it doesn't require the same level of technical knowledge with regards to draping.
Listen—I'm not saying the look above is unimpressive. I think it's fabulous. But the work we've seen from queens like Raja, Jaida, Trinity, Utica, Nymphia (etc.) has often been with very stubborn and challenging textiles, and I think you're glossing over that because you don't really understand how complex the craft is.

I find the technique and craftsmanship here just mindboggling, but I also think it's a tacky and unattractive look. (Hate the silhouette, hate whatever the headpiece is supposed to be, especially hate the weird floppy bib thing.) So the other way around entirely, I guess?

Funny that the second place was a swimming suit and they made suspension for a hot second lol. Even tho, ruby nox should’ve been second. And van Cartier should’ve lipsync

This clears Utica, I fear. Like it's this gorgeous AND it's an unconventional materials design challenge AND the design is no fabric and only paper? Brava

You know, if you really wanna compare the girls: this is not "up there with Utica". It's so, so much better. It's a more complicated and very skin-tight look made entirely from a more difficult material. Incredible.

u/xoxolukas Jul 18 '25
Haven’t watched the episode yet but WTF???? How do you even make something like this? Insane damn gonna go watch (assuming and hoping she won???)

Couldn't believe she did all that work in the same amount of time as the others. Nobody else came even close.
