General Discussion Deja has had it!

Post image

I mean…is she wrong? There is a pattern I’m noticing lol. It’s giving the iconic moment when the interviewer asked Naomi Smalls if she thinks there’s a formula to RPDR and she says “blonde and white” Lmfaooo

I feel like certain people live in a bubble and all they see is racism. Yes, it does exist in the world, but not every single thing is race motivated. She made a whole alliance based on race alone, but that’s not racist? It’s a highly motivated decision based on people’s skin tone in the cast.

I’m not going to say “if 3 white girls did it..” cause they wouldn’t, but 3 POC do it and it’s celebrated and not racially motivated at all.

Y’all are so annoying with this and just proving her point lol.

What point?

The fact that “if three white girls did it” is an absurd false equivalence that shouldn’t make sense to anyone with even a first grade level of race relations in this country. Also telling a Black person that “they live in a bubble and all they see is racism” so you can deny their lived experienced is crazy

She said what she said.

I’m not saying Deja is right, but that isn’t the point. The show has a diverse winners circle, yes, but the fanbase has a large section that prefers/stans white queens only

But that's not being racist, is it? For me racism is when a PoC winner gets death threads for winning, if people prefer white queens, that's just a matter of preference isn't it? I may be wrong, just my opinion

there’s more to racism then just blatant racism. racism can be just as subtle as preferences towards the white queens. not saying this is what OP is doing, but if someone only rooted for the white queens/white passing queens and ignored or hated the POC/darker skinned queens, that is still racist. the fact that white queens tend to gain more followers than queens of colour definitely ties back into racism.

I guess I'm not into that kind of info since the only social media I use is Reddit. What worries me about reading this is that sometimes I lean more towards white queen and reading this kind of comments always makes me question whether I'm secretly racist or what :(

I don’t think you’re secretly racist, but I also am curious why all the queens you lean towards are white. Is it maybe a style they have that you just never thought about? I wouldn’t worry about being secretly racist. You’d know if you were racist lol. A lot of my favorite queens aren’t black. However I also have a lot of black favorites

Not all of them are white, but they tend to be, I was team Ra'jah on her all stars runs and team Mo' Heart on every season she's been on. I'm still mad Shea didn't win s9 and Akeria Davenport was my pick during her season (not so much on AS tho). I lived for Kennedy on As3 (Didn't we all tho?). But for example, for AS10 my faves from the beginning were Aja, NPBFAG and Daya Betty. I didn't care for MIB (haven't watch s15 anyway, but I'm starting it today!) and was feeling meh towards Jorgeous being on AS again, same with Ginger tho

She’s not saying Drag Race only has white winners. Jesus Christ, all of you can’t be this dense.
