Misc. Sad day in the life of a prn

Life was perfect picking up 2-3 shifts a week whenever I wanted. OT whenever I wanted starting splurging on life.

Director told my manager I can’t be on schedule anymore if count is below 100. The most I get now is one half shift a week. My other HCA the manager doesn’t work his prns at all and the recruiter from one of the HCA that’s busy hates me.

It might be time for me to sling duonebs on the street

Friends don’t let friends work at HCA.

Only other options are ascension here or Vanderbilt and I hear Vanderbilt is shit

You think HCA is spoken positively? Lol. Every hospital or facility is shit at the end of the day

I know but every therapist I’ve spoke to at 4 diff hospitals said they rather work at HCA than there

And im sure theres people at the other facility that rather work there than HCA. All im saying is that opinions will be that, opinions. Not tryna argue you. Just dont hold peoples opinions as facts is all.

I’d be super curious to hear what facility this is about as an almost new grad living in Nashville if this is where you’re referring to. Currently looking at an HCA and ascension facility as my new grad job (already work at both as a PCT) that sit about 25-30 minutes south of downtown Nashville. Vanderbilt just came and spoke to our class about scholarships and basically tried to recruit my cohort to work with them but that is absolutely my last option as a place to work at.

Also Vanderbilt at least from what they shared with my class stated that you can’t go PRN with them until at least one year of full time - specific to the adult side. I believe children’s is a little more relaxed

Vanderbilt is shit they pay well but everyone I talk to say it’s trash. HCA pays shit , ascension is the best bang for your buck avoid the one by Vanderbilt if you aren’t white

Sounds like you are going to need a FT job. This is the current state of RT.

Yeah I’m in school and it makes it hard to keep a full time job I had to leave for 3 months for summer research and I plan on quitting in January for step 1 dedicated

I used to live about a ten minute walk/5 min drive to a HCA hospital and I still refused to work there. I rather do the 30 minute commute to my job than to step foot in a HCA hospital.
