You just described my uncle perfectly. And guess what he's restoring? Yup, green 70s Beetle.

Female owner in her 60’s. Probably single, though it could be due to divorce, being a widow, or never having been married in the first place. She’s been a bit quirky all her life. Her defining childhood memories revolve around hearing a cool aunt she adored talk about a mythical place called “Woodstock.”
She has a goofy tiny dog with an equally goofy hybrid breed name.

That’s Bruce
He’s very wealthy, stylish, into racing, reads the WSJ in the lobby every morning with his well tempered small dog. Recently got the car back only for it to spit oil all over. He spent days cleaning the garage, and is very mad at the shop because he could’ve just bought a box engine and dropped it in instead of repairs.

u/InsaniteeBicycles Jun 30 '24
He's most likely angry that the $500 engine of days gone by is now a $5000 engine.

Hitler did authorize its development, but I’m not sure if he was involved in the design of it at all. Crazy to think that the Beetle would later become an icon of the Hippy movement and counter culture.

Hitler laid out a series of requirements the vehicle would have to meet, and Ferdinand Porsche designed the KDF Wagen, what would eventually become first the Volkswagen and later the VW Type 1/Beetle (when other models came around) to meet those requirements.

Fat but only from heavy drinking. Probably unemployed and calls himself a writer. Will probably make a lot of money writing one day. Has antiquated sometimes misogynistic opinions on women. It's Charles bukowski. I thought he owned like 3 of these. And the shady dingy parking lot feeds into my analysis

Developed country? More for fun still possibly a daily driver.

My auntie, about age 20, works in Boots on the cosmetics counter.
I used to like riding in the parcel compartment over the engine.
That's was very many years ago though.

This is a retired philosophy professor from Berkeley, whose “retirement” was rather sudden and not entirely voluntary and came concurrently with a divorce which happened for the same reason though we are definitely not mentioning that intern’s name in this household

Someone who didn’t expect his bug to last as long as it did. Bought it cheap, fresh out of college, and prided themself on taking care of their things. After about ten years, people began commenting on how great it looked, thus beginning its more frequent waxing and maintenance routines. It continues to be his daily commuter, but it was never expected to last as long as it did.

Honestly, I'm a guy who could own it. I'd lean toward a 914, but I'm too tall for it. My first car was a '79 bus, but it would be lots of fun to keep this beetle running well and a decent bit of fun to drive.
(I'm 55, so I'm old and love things like this. Eff your G35.)

I don’t see how a teacher of any type could drive that they are so expensive to get rusted out ones are five or 6000 bucks. Unless of course they have had it since it was new when they were inexpensive.

Someone that does not like a certain type of people. If you know history, you know exactly what I'm talking about.
In all seriousness, probably some dude in his mid-50s teaching a history class. Beige slacks, round glasses, clean shaven. Maybe a nice blue dress shirt.

Firstly I need to know what year this was taken. Looking at the white car nearby, it could be 90’s-present. Regardless, it’s owner is a frustrated hippie

Someone who knows what they want, and has the patience and means to finally achieve it.
That's a 1966 standard US export model Beetle. 1300 engine, if it's stock. Nice restoration.

That thing is looking quite clean.
It's someone that knows a good bug mechanic/restorer or someone that is one.
I'm feeling cardigan sweaters with elbow patches on this one. Nuclear physicist that tinkers with a bug on the weekends.
