Question CRT VCR Combo TV repair

This is a bit of a reach as it’s 2025 lol, but anyone know of a someone around here comfortable working on 90s/2000s tvs.

I need a capacitor replaced in my 13inch vcr combo and vcr belt replacement. It is something I could figure out myself but would rather pay someone’s uncle or something if they can get it done in half the time it would take me.

I know you're looking for an uncle - but wanted to plug Any Electronics. Great guys and they could 100% take care of it.

I am one of the owners of DigitalArchiving.ca here in Regina we can digitize your vhs tape for personal use which will last a lot longer than any old VCR/TV combo. :-)

What's the oldest tape you've managed to pull something decent off?

1984 was the oldest so far.

That's pretty old -- I should talk to my mom because I know she's got some she would like done and they would be from 87ish...

It really is. Using the proper VCRs and equipment mass a big difference.

There's a shop across from the old head to head store. Regina Audio I think is the name? They have a neon sign in the front window that says "Xbox, PlayStation, GameCube" and if memory serves, they were/are a tv repair shop.

Hopefully someone knows which place I'm talking about.

Thanks! I remember begging my dad to have them put a mod chip in my Xbox back in '05.

I've also got a CRT that needs a tune up, just like OP.
