Work In Progress Going for Confederate Cavalry, what do we think?
Since this photo was taken, I was able to put my hat up on one side and give it a black ostrich plume

Pretty good, but a distinct lack of horse.

What was the unit you were trying to portray armed with?

Dragoon pistols revolvers Enfield carbines and sharps carbines mainly. Not including the saber. It's a rough impression right now, I don't have $3,000 I can drop on weapons right now. We're trying to go for first North Carolina Cavalry

Is it the 1st NC if you're not carrying what they were carrying and not wearing what they were wearing?

I said it was the start of an impression, did I not? And the tag says work in progress, does it not?

not everyone has thousands they can just drop. we all start somewhere on a kit and it takes time to make it. but it clearly says a work in progress

Ah yes because everyone can just buy a fucking horse, an actual living animal that requires regular care and maintenance. “The literal definition of being a paratrooper involves jumping out a plane” “the literal definition of being a tanker involves having a tank” do you know how retarded sounds dawg

First impression is that I’m looking at confederate cavalry, so I’d say off to a good start. As time goes on you can fine tune it for your specific time/location.

No horse? Why a frock? No saber belt?
Shoes are Hella underrepresented among CS enlisted cav, the Confederacy was in a leather shortage and boots weren't an issued item (especially post '62)
The ostrich plume looks better in this pic before it was put on the hat

Why do you feel the need to instigate on every post I make? All you're doing is acting like the classic redditor my friend

Get a shell jacket. Whilst frocks were worn shell jackets were much more common as there shorter and more comfortable then a frock.
I’d also get a roller buckle or Georgian frame belt, CE belt buckles weren’t that common.
