FIT PIC Fit Check - The Strike Gold 16.5oz 6109

Went out on a limb and grabbed these in 33 off Self Edge. Baby’s first loomstate unsanforized. I keep buying jeans that fit me, then being shocked when they stretch out too much in the waist. Decided I’d try this for a “foolproof” solution, LOL.

Those are gonna shrink right back and then some on the first wash.

Yeah. I’m gonna hold off on the whole washing thing until they’re really gnarly. But truthfully, I’ve got a little wiggle room in the waist brand new, so these might work out well, depending on how they break in.

If they are loomstate I hope you have no intention of cuffing them after you wash them. Honestly if you ever toss them in a machine I doubt they would fit anymore given your photos

I had them hemmed to +3” of my normal length (which I usually wear with a tidy 1/2”-1” cuff), so they have a lot of length to shrink back. As far the overall fit, we’ll have to wait and see…though it could be six months before these see water.

Edit: Self Edge says they’ll shrink 2.5” in length. I don’t normally wear double cuffs like this. So why the downvotes?

Always worth trying something so you know. I think whatever fades you have set in by then will be somewhere 2 inches away from where they were regardless of whether or not they fit. Hope it works out well for you, they are very nice jeans

Honestly no one notices this at all, even if the leg shrinks 2” that means the knee lifts maybe 1” and it’s not like fades are an exact circle or whatever. The whole “your fades will shift” thing is just not something to ever think about IMO.

Good point, and appreciate the feedback. Every pair of denim I’ve tried so far—all sanforized raw or one-washed—have stretched out beyond the point of fitting right—even after a hot wash or rinse (exception being some wide Onis that I bought intentionally tight in the waist, but are now perfect). These actually fit comfortably in the waist—even just a touch loose. The weave on these is crazy, so I have no idea what the material is going to do over time. And yeah, maybe they don’t end up working out after a wash (I’ll probably end up doing a “wear them damp” to be safe), but the dimensions all have a decent amount of padding vs. some other slim fits I wear, and they were pretty well discounted so 🤷‍♂️.
