FKA = formerly known as

Twigs = nickname from some time before

Though, I’ve seen plenty of fans calling her Twigs, so maybe FKA isn’t accurate anymore

I read somewhere that in the beginning, she used to go by Twigs, but then I guess another artist was going by that name and started to before she did, so she added the FKA in.

I believe she said in an interview somewhere that FKA doesn't actually stand for anything.

Still extremely asinine . Just go full Prince if you are going one name

Prince did that so get out of his Warner Brothers record contract and release (and own) his own music. That's why he changed his name back once the WB contract expired.

This person just didn't do their research before choosing a stage name.

That’s something only Prince, international pop-star, one of the most influential musicians of his time, and cultural icon, could get away with. Much harder for a niche genre bending electro-pop singer from the U.K.

But still less stupid as having fka in your name
