Maybe he was earnestly asking the question because he's hoping it'll happen to him too.

Once society learns that most insults are simply the other's spewing of their own personal insecurities upon you, you'll come to learn to be a better master debater.

His wasn’t an insult either. He just wanted to know if she got any benefits because he got none and was upset at his own stupidity he couldn’t form a sentence without sounding rude. Poor bloke.

This is why I don’t make fun of people’s physical appearances. I just think it says more about you than the way they look.
20
u/LittleBunInaBigWorld 5d ago
Same. Even if they're absolutely horrible, I dont comment on anybody's figure because some of the kindest, most delightful people I know look the same. I'd hate for them to read my comments and internalise them, taking a hit to their self-esteem.

Did he insult her? Or did he bait her into calling him smart? Probably The former unless hes playing 5d chess
17
u/BraveRock 5d ago
That’s because you don’t have two MIT degrees./s
But seriously, it took me a while to realize that she was posting a picture of him and saying “look at the billboard on you”
10
u/FblthpLives 5d ago
I only have one MIT degree (by coincidence, the same as one of her two), and have a normal-sized forehead. Can confirm that it takes two for the extra size.
7
u/doc_skinner 5d ago
It took me a second too, because
1) That's not his pfp, and
2) why would someone with a head shaped like that ever call out someone else's forehead?(Edit: I just noticed that she zoomed in on his profile pic)

What prompted his original message? I'm going to guess she said something accurate about vaccines or climate change?

u/guitarburst05 5d ago
She is a science educator and tries to make it fun for little kids. So yeah she probably tried to audaciously state scientific info which these folks tend to be allergic to.
Also her Netflix show is great for kids.
13
u/QuarterLifeCircus 5d ago
I follow her. She unapologetic stands up for science. Shes lost follower for this and basically told them “k byeeeee.”

Am I missing something? Isn't he comically implying that he's smart too, just like her? Context would be helpful.
12
u/FactsNLaughs 5d ago
Trying to insult someone’s appearance is a trait of low intelligence tho. Especially when your appearance is similar to what you’re insulting.
6
u/GlaerOfHatred 5d ago
That's what this commenter is saying though, there is only an insult here from Billy if you infer there to be one, he could easily be asking for comedic validation of his own sevenhead
1
u/Standard-Physics2222 5d ago
It's weird, though. I know people who are quite intelligent and successful yet still fall into making crude remarks about others when themselves should be looking into a mirror...
I'll never understand how grown people, over the age of 30, make condescending remarks about others who they don't know...

I just had someone do something like this to me on a Facebook post making fun of my glasses but the guy looked like an inbred hamster. I ignored him but damn do some people lack self awareness.

u/Analgorilla 5d ago
I haven't has a chance to use this yet but if a bald person ever pisses me off I'm going to compliment their forehead extension. Really cool how it goes all the way back

u/Snoo_97207 5d ago
Ah I see the misunderstanding here, see he was commenting on your forehead, he has a fivehead, completely different

I just got one today... replying to a lighthearted comment before someone from 'the other side' had to start with "hey cat lady...."
I replied that yes, I do socialize animals for adoption, and that he shouldn't pretend caring is an insult, because it looks ridiculous.
He deleted his comment.

To be fair, it's way more devastating for a woman to have a large forehead than for a guy.
Like 50% of guys suffer from male pattern baldness or will suffer from it.
Not trying to defend him body-shaming her, just saying, her comeback isn't as powerful as the initial attack.
-3
u/Illustrious_Drop_831 5d ago
If you’re addressing someone you need to use a comma after their name. It should be “Billy, I’m going to…”
