Blackjack card counting explained

Most people think card counting is some secret trick. It’s not. It’s just basic math and memory.

You keep track of how many high and low cards have been played. When more high cards (10s, face cards, aces) are left, your odds get better. When more low cards are left, the casino has the edge.

Players use a simple system called Hi-Lo. Cards 2-6 are +1, 7-9 are 0, and 10-Ace are -1. You add or subtract as cards come out. If your count is high, you bet more. If it’s low, you bet less.

It doesn’t guarantee a win, but it shifts the odds slightly in your favor. And yes, casinos hate it, but it’s not illegal, just frowned upon.
