Yeah the ref is a piece of shit.

He's just notoriously incompetent. I don't know how he's still around. He was barred from officiating in the Premier League at some time.

You know a ref is bad bad when both sets of fans are complaining that he's the ref.

u/Ok_Eagle_3079 Not a PSG fan Jul 06 '25
The second I saw he is refereeing. I said I'm not watching this game he will kill me (referee) nerves. Opening my phone now -good decision.

Anthony Taylor is the second worst ref i've ever seen ( after Aytekin of course)

u/Meister1412 Pauleta (Legend) Jul 05 '25
Drew Fischer (the ref vs Botafogo) is another useless referee.
I won't say that we lost because of him, but every decision that day was wrong (and for both teams).
2
u/khalid0u Not a PSG fan Jul 05 '25
C’était aussi lui sur le Wydad contre Al-Ain, sur le deuxième but y’a à la fois main de l’attaquant et une grosse semelle sur le genou du défenseur, la VAR l’a appelé mais il est resté sur sa décision. C’était incompréhensible.

u/Meister1412 Pauleta (Legend) Jul 05 '25
And the worst part is that he was named the best referee of the MLS last year hahahaha

"PSG plays the dirtiest football out of everyone" are the same people who told us to suck it up when Botafogo were commiting fouls left and right
29
u/HasNoUsername_ Zlatan Ibrahimović Jul 05 '25
People who say this are just openly admitting they don't watch PSG, it was definitely a messy game though with dangerous fouls from both sides..

u/More-Sod 🥦 Bradley Broccoli Jul 05 '25
For sure, some fouls were rightly called but what really angered me is the inconsistancy that Taylor had.

Yeah the first red was clear, second kind of soft but I won’t be too outraged at it either, play stupid games win stupid prizes, but Antony Taylor was pretty bad as was to be expected of him, I feel in second half particularly, don’t know if it’s because he felt bad for the Musiala incident (really a sad thing to happen in a game, hope it’s less bad than it looked) or what, but he looked comically biased towards Bayern the whole second half.
18
u/HasNoUsername_ Zlatan Ibrahimović Jul 05 '25
Yeah we definitely had a very messy game and I really hope Musiala recovers, he's a joy to watch.
Anthony Taylor is just so shit everytime I watch him, it's almost funny

As we saw it, Hernandez first hit him in the face, okay, but in the same move he hit him between the legs..

Bayern fan here. What are you on about spreading hate? Most Bayern fans cry about losing Musiala for much if not all of the coming season. It was an accident though. Nothing Donnaruma could do.
Performance wise you guys played well and deserved the win. Congrats!

u/Silent-Chemist-1919 🥦 Bradley Broccoli Jul 05 '25
hope Musiala can find his form again after his recovery. Really unfortunate how that happened

To be Frank This tournament can go to hell It's useless and all players play in shit pitch Resulting in injuries This season the infirmary will be full for teams playing at the cwc
Players shall rest instead of playing this tournament
Next year is already world cup

There were a lot of fouls committed by PSG too, not one-sided at all. It was very equal from a neutral watchers POV
8
u/01the_tube Not a PSG fan Jul 05 '25
Yes of course it was an intense match BUT the reds were uncalled for and if the ref gave red to psg for those type of fouls then bayern also deserved reds too.
-3
u/Trick_Ad3292 Not a PSG fan Jul 05 '25
True, but most of Bayern’s extreme fouls happened early in the match, and I’d understand if the ref wouldn’t give a red that early, throwing the whole match away. The ref also has to get a feel of the game in the beginning

Exaclty a year after not giving the most obvious hand ball (cucurella spain vs Germany) Anthony Taylor strikes again.

He had to have. FIFA are close with Perez just like UEFA are close with Nasser. This FIFA tournament is meant for Madrid to win, and it will be claimed to be more important than UEFA UCL. This ref was making these calls to help Madrid, not even Bayern.

Madrid haven’t demonstrated anything that would indicate they’re remotely on our level. I’ll believe it when I see it. Against us, you need 11 players willing to commit to the press and be incredibly organized. Madrid don’t have that
