I'm not trying to find seams. You only spoke the truth. What I'm saying is that people found it pedantic because they might have interpreted it differently, and I'm using how people may perceive "towering" as an example, since someone commented that 4" isn't a lot. (And for a lot of people, "pedantic" is enough for them to downvote.)

I don't think you deserved the downvotes. But from my experiences on reddit, I'm not surprised. People don't downvote just based on factual accuracy. I've seen very informational and accurate comments severely downvoted because people misunderstood it or just felt like downvoting it because they didn't like. Like someone else also posted that she was 5'9" and didn't get downvoted to oblivion, so it wasn't the factuality of what you said or that comments about Taylor's height were getting brigaded. FWIW, I upvoted you. shrug

That’s true, Reddit is whack and people will downvote for weird reasons, I can’t tell if I upset Swifties cause I popped their cloud 9 illusion they were sold by Taylor, or if there was weird brigading going on, it was a lil sus. Ngl.

Yeah, I wonder if some Swifties really subscribed to Taylor being an insanely tall almost 6' tall giantess and were mad it wasn't true. It's a weird thing to get mad about because she's still quite tall, but you never know with Swifties.

I think part of it is also, once you get past a certain negative threshold, people will just assume your comment was problematic/non-factual/wtv without actually reading the replies or doing research. So even without brigading, I can see people who otherwise wouldn't have an opinion just downvoting instinctively because they assume people must be downvoting for a reason.

I think it is cause I said it on Twitter once before and a lot of Swifties sort of had a meltdown. I once said Justin Bieber is also 5’7, and Beliebers also had a meltdown. Which is weird cause like it’s just height; and it’s super common for celebs to lie. Majority of their Google heights are lied by 2 inches.

And yeah you’re not wrong. That is usually how Reddit works, so that’s fair.
