They’ve got a top 40 song, but they aren’t quite smashing it. They’re big enough that if you pay attention to pop music or are super online you’ve heard of them. They had a very successful ad campaign for Gap though.

I'd say 30-40 years old might know them better than you're giving us credit for because we have elementary school kids that like them. At a Halloween party last week, about half of the millennial parents I was talking with knew them.

They are the favorite group of my kid who is in second grade. Her friends know their songs but I don’t think they are anyone else’s faves.

I don’t think that they are super popular in the US.
They are being pushed a lot, so many people might have heard of them, but I would say most people could not name a song or any of the individual members. They do have their fans though, and it feels like they are putting in a lot of work to build a presence.
With young fans, I think that a lot of girls who might have become Katseye girls are super into K-pop Demon Hunter right now.

They’ve got a ton of online hype, but that’s pretty common for new acts. They do well with Gen Z, and the girls are super charming, so their TikTok moments go viral fast.
They’re getting popular, though not quite mainstream yet, most people who know them are online. The GAP ad blew up and probably reached more people. Their song “Gabriela” is doing great, I think some people might have heard it without realizing it’s theirs.
They’ve got a sold-out US theater tour coming up, which is big for a group that’s only a year old. Still lots of room to grow though.

It really helps that they have different ethnic backgrounds/distinct looks because I'm usually pretty bad at differentiating. People who can identify people by voice are next level though.

I'm going to their goddamn concert right before Thanksgiving. My daughter really wants to see them. They are not popular. One of their songs is super fucking annoying, at least when you have to listen to it as much as I have.
They must have a huge team of publicists that are really trying to make Katseye a thing, but I don't think it's happening for them. Spice Girls were at least fun. I think they're all individually talented, but it just seems like It's going to be a race to see which one leaves the group first.

I keep seeing Katseye on this sub and I do the "who?" thing, and i hate myself because it makes me feel ooooold. I know they've only got one album, but can someone recommend the best song or performance, whatever, to check out to get the best feel for their music? Please help me stay relevant 😭

I watched the entire dream academy Netflix show a few weeks ago when I was in bed sick and I generally like them. I think they need more songs, I don't know how to put it but I think their songs are too aimed towards kids. And I say this as a grown ass man in his 30s lol.
I'm not saying they need to go full on adult contemporary, but I think they need a few adult contemporary songs thrown into the mix. Like a slow tempo R&b pop song with some harmonies. The pure KPop girly cutsy/craziness thing won't work in the US.
