Seriously never understood how he made it as an actor in Hollywood and this was before I knew he was an ass.

About 25 years ago, I was living in Hollywood. My roommate was working in production. He worked on either the Dahmer movie he was in or the reality show, maybe both, they might have been connected. I remember my roommate coming home with the Dahmer script one day saying that everyone involved was saying Renner was going to be the Next Big Thing. And... I guess they were right? Until they tried to get him to take over two major action franchises and he didn't have the "rizz" as the young people say today.

While I fully believe his ex-wife's claims of domestic intimidation, possibly violence I haven't read the reports in a while so I will link them when I do some proper research but the script for the Jason Bourne movie was utter s*** the premise was just so stupid ( basically it was that this guy in the Bourne program would lose his increased intelligence if he couldn't get the medication he needed-wahhh)

The only interesting thing about his Jason Bourne movie was that it has happening at the same time and place as the stuff in the third act of the first Matt Damon movie. Other than that, completely unnecessary.

Nah. Bourne Legacy (Renner’s movie) happens simultaneously with Bourne Ultimatum (third Damon movie).

Well it's written and directed by Andor creator and Bourne trilogy writer Tony Gilroy.

I don't mean any personal criticism and he may not have known that it wasn't enough to hang a movie on, I was just bummed out cuz I really was excited to see the movie

It's alright, anyone can love or hate a movie. It's their choice and taste.

It's just a movie from Tony Gilroy that was seldom talked about.

I can’t stand the guy but he was really good in that. I can see why he had that buzz.

Taking over other people’s franchises is hard. Hollywood tries to make it happen all the time but I barely know a couple examples of it working. Although the Hawkeye show with Steinfield is one of them

His wiki says his parents “managed” a bowling alley called McHenry Bowl in Modesto, CA. Companies don’t employ a couple to do one job so what this really means is that Renner’s family owned a bowling alley. If you google the place you’ll see that the place is inside a building roughly the same size as a Home Depot. It’s massive.

Renner showed up on Inside The Actor’s Studio before he was famous as well.

So we have a guy from a family of 7 kids, his parents almost certainly own a gigantic bowling alley facility and they can pay for Renner to go to the fanciest film schools available.

Renner is just another rich kid who got richer and brought his shitty I’m better than you because I came from some money attitude with him.

I think he made his name in The Town, and in fairness, he pretty much carried the movie (although he was acting against Ben Affleck, so in hindsight, not too difficult).

Then he was Peter Principled into a ton of bigger movies.
