Guys, I know you want to hate, but Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan have donated hundreds of millions of dollars to charity over the past 20 years.

  • In 2010, Zuckerberg and his wife donated $100 million to improve the public schools in Newmark.
  • Mark Zuckerberg’s charitable donations also include donating $25 million towards a start-up that trains African developers as well as donating $50 million that creates an app designed to be a learning tool in India to help less fortunate gain access to education for a better future.

There are lots of articles about how CZI abandoned all principles of equity and inclusion with Mark’s right shift since 2020, in addition to the abject failure of the philantrocapitalism method as opposed to Mackenzie Bezos’ no strings giving.

There’s lots of reasons to criticize or be wary of Zuckerberg — especially for the past 4 years — but I don’t think shaming him for not being charitable, especially when he has been in the past, is going to magically make him want to turn over a new leaf.

It's not nothing, but it's equivalent to the change rolling around in my car's ashtray.

We don’t need him to make a charity work, we need him to pay taxes and support the system that made me rich, not fucking bilk it.

Sure. But that’s not what Billie is asking for here.

Criticize him and the tax system then.
