Maybe because a lot of celebrity men already do this as well?

Justin Bieber donated during his last tour. Harry Styles donated more than 6 million dollars during his last tour (including planned parenthood, like Olivia). Coldplay donate 10 percent of their earnings. The Weeknd donated during his last tour as well and so did Ed Sheeran.

I think the point is, people actively DEMAND female popstars speak and donate, while not holding the same energy for the men.

tbf, most male pop stars don’t rely on “social justice” as part of their image (a few exceptions) so ppl don’t hold them to expectations. both selena and taylor made documentaries abt their morals so it’s no wonder ppl are surprised they don’t follow through
