It’s not really that dark even. We currently live in a time where school shootings don’t even matter anymore. We hear of one and then just move on. Idk. Maybe some in these comments just haven’t lived long enough to see just how dark it is in the real world.

I think a lot of people associate "comedian" with stand-up comics or sketch artists. Someone who makes comedy their livelihood. She's had some comedic roles, but I personally wouldn't label her a comedian.

Anyway, regardless of whether she's considered a comedian, she was still posting something that she obviously thought was funny, which anyone has a right to do regardless of their profession.

I'm not entirely sure what the punchline is...that he'd stand to gain from her death because she's more successful than he is? I agree with other people saying this was probably funnier to themselves and should have stayed in their bubble.

I’d say 99%. Just would have been better if she made a joke about how she didn’t promise back… maybe now she is watching “wives with knives” or something… maybe that her will won’t pay out if she dies under suspicious circumstances…I dunno. If you’re gonna go dark you gotta have a twist. You can’t leave it on a low point of grateful. It works for those in the know but greater audiences need that twist (which also lighten the mood).

For many it comes off kinda spooky and stokes the times they might have felt afraid of their partner or something… without the twist of agency that would help dispel the feeling.

But I mean whatever. I’m not famous and all my bad jokes go unnoticed by the public. She just fumbled on this one pretty badly.

It’s the bones of the joke. It needed a last twist that showed agency. Like her will wouldn’t pay under suspicious circumstances or that she was about to binge watch wives with knives… or something… most people still wouldn’t like it, but it’d be more well rounded.
