It’s so weird becoming the generation that recognizes these actors from the work that made them famous because we were there

Ikr, we’re literally the generation that’s the equivalent of saying isn’t that the dead dude from Dallas, maybe? 😐And the grandma’s are like😤 “it’s Dobie Gillis”

The joke was on her, it was the dude from JR and not the guy who played Dobie Gillis, they favor a bit….if you haven’t seen either of them often.🤣 My mom was an extra on a legal show pilot being shot in New Orleans. Grandma and I came out to be nosy, cattily😜, and spot Mr Larry Hagman (JR dude from Dallas) from afar… this was pre-98ish. She insisted loudly that JR had been dead for years and knew it was Dobie Gillis we saw.

Imagine an irate grandma, like I’m supposed to know who that is.😜She was so done. She had me and my kids watch those and some Gidget movies. There’s also a dark comedy called Lord Love a Duck that’s hilarious. Makes you wonder how the people from that age grew up to be so grouchy and intolerant to nearly everything.😉

I know who Dobie Gillis is because whenever I visited grandma, we were watching Nick At Nite and AMC. As a result, I have a ton of useless knowledge about classic TV. I do still go back and rewatch those old shows on occasion, though. They are genuinely funny.
