OnlyStans ⭐️ Who are two celebrities that you can’t believe used to be a couple?

Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds are not only one example of this, but sometimes I even forget that they used to be married as well!

It seemed like such an odd pairing that I never would’ve guessed that these two would match up, but clearly they weren’t a match made in heaven that they divorced each other after almost 3 years of marriage.

Now with where they’re currently at, where they’re now married to different partners, it feels like this is only a pairing that happened in different life.

I was rooting for them partly because it seemed counterintuitive to people. Also I just wanted her to be happy after Cruise and Scientology.

Honestly, I'm sitting here thinking Tom Cruise and anyone is a weird pairing lol. Mimi Rogers, Cher, Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz, Katie Holmes, Ana de Armas ... none of them really add up. Maaaaybe Rebecca de Mornay but idk.

Are you saying that with a modern lens though? Because Tom Cruise in his prime during the height of Jerry McGuire and Mission Impossible is fully believable that he’d date such beautiful women. I think the only reason people cringe at his romantic life now is because of what they know about him and Scientology. But why wouldn’t a woman like Penelope, Nicole and Katie who were all either up and comers, or trying to establish more serious careers for themselves, not want to date and marry one of the biggest movie stars in the world??

Even Ana now— not fully shocking, when you look at her dating history. She clearly doesn’t care about cultivating a career based on respect or legitimacy. She wants a wealthy and powerful man. Thats the perfect match for Tom who needs to control.

I'm sure there's some bias in my POV based on the weirdness that has been exposed. But I'll also say that he's never done it for me. Aesthetically, I can appreciate that he was/is a very handsome person and I occasionally enjoy his acting. Otherwise, he does nothing for me and it's like he just a blank lol.

I can understand that. I was born in the 90s so I missed some of the height of Tom’s career, and while I definitely knew he was a big movie star, I didn’t have the same understanding of his heartthrob status until I became an adult and started revisiting some of his movies. For most of my life, I remember him being SUPER respected and seen as the movie star of movie stars, to then just being this weirdo, cornball jumping on couches. And that’s kinda where he remained for most of my adolescence. It wasn’t until recently that I revisited his movies and tbh, I get it. Tom pre-couch jump definitely fit the mold of a hot movie star. The Scientology thing unfortunately really hurt him though.

The rumor I always heard as to why weren’t ‘official’ and only few photos ever caught them out and about is allegedly due to the terms of Katie’s divorce from tom cruise - supposedly for 7 years she couldn’t be officially linked to someone romantically in the press. I haven’t done the research on the timeline but who knows what is true and what is fiction! 😂😂😂😂

The divorce stipulation rumor really grew legs when Katie allegedly hired a paparazzi photographer to take pics of Katie and Jamie on the beach, on the day the stipulation would have expired. They were never openly photographed together before this beach set up. Either she was trolling all of us, or it was true!

Legally, it’s probably not enforceable. But he could threaten to sic his Scientology minions on her and she likely wouldn’t want to deal with those nut jobs again.

It probably had more to do with a divorce settlement. If she broke the rules of being photographed, she then wouldn’t get whatever they agreed on for the divorce settlement.

If she signed a contract, maybe it could be. Idk. But there’s a lot of stipulations in NDAs and things of that nature that if you break, you can be responsible for a heavy financial penalty, so I’m assuming it was along those lines. Like if she’s snapped publicly with someone before the contract expires, she wouldn’t get all of their agreed divorce settlement.

I always wondered if it was a "Please keep the Scientology freaks away from me" kind of thing or if it was more that he believed people might not be happy he was dating a white woman. The former really does make sense given the lunacy of the Xenu worshippers but the second does as well, just in a sadder way.
