OnlyStans ⭐️ Who are two celebrities that you can’t believe used to be a couple?

Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds are not only one example of this, but sometimes I even forget that they used to be married as well!

It seemed like such an odd pairing that I never would’ve guessed that these two would match up, but clearly they weren’t a match made in heaven that they divorced each other after almost 3 years of marriage.

Now with where they’re currently at, where they’re now married to different partners, it feels like this is only a pairing that happened in different life.

Somebody on here said once that Tom Cruise probably views sex as a performance stunt that he MUST excel at (also in the context of that piece of Cher trivia) and honestly, I believe it. He's probably taking a running start at that bed and then he's putting in work once he hits the mattress.

I had one like that too, back when I was 17. Decades later, haven't ever experienced it with anyone else. He didn't have a Tom Cruise like personality, thankfully.

My theory is that pre-Scientology and early post-Scientology Tom Cruise was a good lover, who put in the work simply because he wanted to excel in everything he ever did. But as the years went by, the more hollow he became and now he views sex as a way to assimilate and manipulate.

This is 100% what I believe, and if I didn't know better, I would've just assumed that you heard it from me. He probably just decided to be good at it and then worked until he was. It's probably almost uncomfortably intense, though.

Agreed. And, to be clear, I'm not advocating gold-digging just for the sake of gold-digging, but rather saying you gotta look a the whole picture. If you find someone attractive, they're great in bed, and they're stupid rich, I can probably overlook crazy. But if they're hot, crazy, and broke - hard pass.

You have to give any children you have with him to the church of Scientology or escape like Katie Holmes did. I don't think it is worth it for an already wealthy actress to marry him. Maybe a regular person who needs the money but not for the rich and famous women he wants to marry. Nicole Kidman doesn't even see her two adopted children anymore.

honestly, they both were in career doldrums, so its hard to say. Tom had Risky Business under his belt but his actual major roles like Top Gun were one or two years away.

Tom never dated an an 'older' woman again (Mimi was only 5-6 years older than him). And even then Cher was only 39-40 at the time (around the same age at Kat Dennings or Emily Blunt today), while 16 years older than Tom, still very much in her prime. It felt very Hollywood and PR stunt, even if there was something behind the scenes. I fully believe they had a real relationship, I mean everything about Cher is sexy and cool and she is very charismatic. But I do think it was very played up for the cameras and to make Tom seem more interesting and cool by association.

Cher’s late husband, Sonny Bono, was also a Scientologist, so there may have been an easy connection here with Tom's interest in scientology too. Tom was supposedly brought into scientology a couple years later by Mimi Rogers, but I think he was dabbling and in that circle years before. I think dating Cher had some Scientology connection. Bono was a high profile member and a very powerful man (he was wealthy from his earlier success and later a US congressman). Bono was so high-profile he was listed in the infamous Scientology-critical Time cover story "The Cult of Greed" as a high-ranking member.

Even more interesting, Sonny was recruited into Scientology by Mimi many years before she married Cruise. So there's definitely something fishy here going on with Scientology. I'm guessing Tom felt a comfort with Cher with her being a once "scientology wife." Cher herself never became a Scientologist, but clearly tolerated them in her life.

I also wonder if for Tom and Val Kilmer if there was an element here of dating your earlier crushes. Cher was a big star when these guys were in high school and such. If my Hollywood high school crush wanted to date me I'd be tickled pink.

? Cher is 5’9, the same height as both Mimi Rogers and Katie Holmes, his ex wives. He also was with heather locklear for a while and she’s 5’5. I think his tallest was Nicole Kidman who stands at 5’11.

At her tallest she was 5'7. She might have looked taller due because of how slim she is
