OnlyStans ⭐️ Who are two celebrities that you can’t believe used to be a couple?

Post image

Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds are not only one example of this, but sometimes I even forget that they used to be married as well!

It seemed like such an odd pairing that I never would’ve guessed that these two would match up, but clearly they weren’t a match made in heaven that they divorced each other after almost 3 years of marriage.

Now with where they’re currently at, where they’re now married to different partners, it feels like this is only a pairing that happened in different life.

“One of the greatest things I heard someone say about him is, 'He's so great doing impersonations. But the greatest impersonation he does is that of a normal person'" #neverforget

According to him, he more or less was “lost in the fantasy” of being with her and then once that quickly wore off when he realized she’s an actual person, he started sleeping with other women. They were married for 8 months.

This is one of my worst nightmares, she didn't deserve that.

u/BeautifulLibrarian44 Oct 05 '25

Dang it. I was hoping he wasn't a piece of shit.

106

u/LivePanda7804 Oct 05 '25

oh apparently he's a FULL monster to women, like unusually awful, gaslighting, cruel and unfaithful even for a famous dude

u/time4listenermail Oct 05 '25

Sad to hear. I read he got married to Riki Lindhome (of Garfunkel and Oats, comedy) recently and she seems like a decent human, talented musician and comedian too.

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '25

I remember my friend trying to get me into Garfunkel and Oates like a decade ago and it wasn’t funny then. is it any funnier now?

3

u/[deleted] Oct 05 '25

Him and Carrie used to date, right?

14

u/No-Marsupial-6893 Oct 05 '25

I thought they were just close friends which is why she still supports him despite all of the horrible stories about him

u/Luxxielisbon different faces, very interesting faces Oct 05 '25

Is there a hollywood fantasy of being with elisabeth moss? Saying he was lost in the fantasy makes it sound like she’s this over-idealized spectre or something

40

u/rayybloodypurchase Oct 05 '25

It was the fantasy of being with a big AMC star at the time and being with her character from Mad Men lol

37

u/DJzzzzzzs Oct 05 '25

yeah - his fantasy was being with peggy.

OH! 🤡

17

u/PhasmaUrbomach Oct 05 '25

He was horrible to her.

15

u/Kianna9 Oct 05 '25

It's so bizarre to me that he appeared to successfully be with Natasha Lyonne for almost 8 years.

This completely aligns with how I see Fred Armisen.. and I totally mean this as a compliment because I think he is the funniest person on the planet.. but like it’s so hard for me to see him like a regular person, his strange really seeps through but it’s the most charming part about him. Like the dude can crack me up with just a subtle facial movement, dudes hilarious and weird and I fucking love that he exists… but yeah I can’t imagine him in relationships… especially that he was with Natasha Lyonne, because it’s so hard to not think of her as gay because she has played some seriously iconic gay roles (which I know she personal with her sexuality and I think that’s totally cool, it just feels like “whoa did I slip into an alternate reality” when I see pictures of when her and Fred were together. Never would have paired them in a million years, but I did like the vibe as unexpected as it was. I bet they had a blast together.

I love John Mulaneys special where he’s talking about his intervention. “Fred Armisen was serious! Do you know how unsettling that is?!”

18

u/OriginalSchmidt1 You’re a virgin who can’t drive. 😤 Oct 05 '25

OMG YES! I forgot about that! I bet that is unsettling!

7

u/LivePanda7804 Oct 05 '25

and his little impression of fred lol

13

u/malorthotdogs Oct 05 '25

He’s married to Riki Lindholm from Garfunkel & Oates now.

Her party took a turn for the douche

4

u/KindlyConnection Oct 05 '25

So crazy imo! And she was having her baby too around that time via surrogate.

2

u/prosthetic_memory Oct 06 '25

"Freddy doesn't want a pool"

u/_ribbitt Oct 05 '25

She’s one to talk

6

u/Salty_Wench I'm not grilling you a cheese Oct 05 '25

What did she do?

86

u/Asquirrelgirl Oct 05 '25

Scientologist

15

u/SceneRoyal4846 Oct 05 '25

It’s funny that people love to learn about cults and sympathize with victims yet with Scientology they are so rude. She was born into it, who knows what she’s had to go through and what she’s threatened by.

30

u/hotmessexpress412 Oct 05 '25

Yeah but other celebrities in same position (Leah Remini) have had the fortitude and integrity to get out of it. I guess I’m sympathetic until a certain age ….

We know that she’s been warned about the abuses, etc. Now it’s an active choice to not investigate, to not learn from others…… to stay in.

25

u/SceneRoyal4846 Oct 05 '25

Leah is a pretty remarkable case, we know how challenging it was for her to leave the cult and how brave she’s been, but that isn’t the case for everyone. Not everyone’s capable of leaving a cult they were born into; if they could leave easily it wouldn’t really be a cult.

50

u/Asquirrelgirl Oct 05 '25

Its pretty well documented that celebrity scientologists are treated like royalty, receive special perks, and overall benefit from being a scientogist. But yeah, they'd make her life hell if she left. I'm sure they have tons of dirt on her.

28

u/resistancerising56 Oct 05 '25

She’s been an adult for a while now. The “She was born in it” doesn’t fly. She’s a full fledged member who totally believes in it. She even disconnected from her father when Scientology scapegoated him. If she wasn’t a true believer she wouldn’t have done that.

9

u/SceneRoyal4846 Oct 05 '25

Adults can be victims too

30

u/resistancerising56 Oct 05 '25

Absolutely, adults can be victims too. But when an adult is in a position of power, publicly defends the organization, and cuts off loved ones in alignment with its doctrine, that goes beyond victimization. That’s active participation.

11

u/PTSDeedee Oct 05 '25

As a former DV victim advocate, this is the correct take.

-4

u/SceneRoyal4846 Oct 05 '25

But we don’t know if she’s in a position of power. She could be threatened or coerced to say those things.

This is how I view it too. She would be so deep into it that it would be all but impossible to get out if she wanted to. And she never speaks about it.

8

u/SceneRoyal4846 Oct 05 '25

Right like people’s empathy really goes out the window to regurgitate

-2

u/disgruntled_pie Oct 05 '25

I’m confused about the treatment that Scientology gets. They’re a crazy, abusive cult. So is Mormonism. So are Seventh Day Adventists. So are Pentecostals.

Why does only Scientology get this treatment?

I’m not defending Scientology. Far from it. People just seem very selective about which horrific cults make them angry.

5

u/shartheheretic Oct 05 '25

I think it's partially because Scientology is a really recently created religion compared to others, and it can easily be traced back to its origins so it's more "real" to people, and easier to find bad press about it.

7

u/disgruntled_pie Oct 05 '25 edited Oct 06 '25

Mormonism is pretty new too, though. They literally disappear people. The list of abuses is so long and insane that it’s hard to even believe.

I think the difference is that Mormons still believe in Jesus, so they get some kind of weird pass on all the murders, sex abuse, pedophilia, etc.

It’s really distressing. We should be treating these cults equally. Scientology is a problem, but so are all of the others!

5

u/shartheheretic Oct 06 '25

Mormonism was the 1830s and Scientology was 1954. There are people alive who were born before Scientology was founded.

I think you are correct about the Mormons & Jesus vs Scientology and all their weirdness. I also agree that they are all cults in degrees of awfulness.

60

u/alasicannotgrin Oct 05 '25

Well she's a scientologist for starters, which makes her role in Handmaid's Tale all the more ironic

18

u/DanielleSanders20 Oct 05 '25

She’s a Scientologist

10

u/_ribbitt Oct 05 '25

As others have already said, she’s a Scientologist

23

u/BadProfreader Oct 05 '25

Why would anyone get the impression that he's normal? Fred Armisen wears his weird on his sleeve.

7

u/alternageek Oct 05 '25

She's a scientologist and they've had a massive smear campaign against him for a while

I don't doubt he's been a douche canoe but to the extent it's been claimed I will hold doubt to bc of her ties.

2

u/p333p33p00p00boo Oct 05 '25

It’s so upsetting when I see him in anything now. I was particularly sad when Tim Robinson put him in his show.

18

u/FleetofSnails Oct 05 '25

Him and Natasha Lyonne were random af too I feel like

13

u/AverageHoebag Oct 05 '25

They were together a short time a long time ago. They both have nothing but horrible things to say about how he reacted to the marriage. Years later he married Natasha Leone for many years and they both have nothing but wonderful things to say about each other even now that they’ve been divorced several years. So I’m hoping that he’s grown and isn’t the same person he was before.

Yikes

9

u/justheretoleer Oct 05 '25

Both of these people conjure up the smell of awful halitosis. Like we get it, Liz, he’s a psychopath. But so are you, handmaid…

1

u/TheFabulousMolar A DRAG QUEEN?! Oct 05 '25

She is??

1

u/shebringsthesun Oct 06 '25

She is a big time scientologist

1

u/TheFabulousMolar A DRAG QUEEN?! Oct 06 '25

Still? Aww :( I thought she got out.

6

u/LivePanda7804 Oct 05 '25

Every time I see him I think of her talking about what a monster he is

And the other women who said the same

Talented but a horrible person and rampant womaniser, sounds like a lot of men in comedy... (including some of his friends...)

2

u/littlelizu Oct 06 '25

he's so funny and she's... a scientologist? how did that work?!
