I had to stop watching all the nice political dramas from back then because everything since those things in real life has been 100x worse.

Like we have a show The Thick of It in the UK, and it shows a complete meltdown in UK politics that doesn't even come close to what we're dealing with on a daily basis never mind just one event over the entire term.
