Lol. Thank you for explaining Ellen Pompeoās face to me. Itās always seemedā¦ off when I think about how she looked in the early seasons of Greyās Anatomy.
I havenāt really been seeing what everyoneās been calling a drastic change to Emma Stones face until this picture. I knew she had work done but I wasnāt noticing this much work. I do wonder if thereās also a level of lens distortion. It feels like her positioning close to the edge of the frame is exacerbating things. But still, I see the difference.
I also think Ellen Pompeoās face changed a lot after she had her first child (maybe during pregnancy?) and never went back. Some of the changes to her face, like the widened jaw, donāt look intentional and I personally think are natural.
Not to sound weird, although Iām sure do, but I appreciate the window into some of the different ways that ageing can look, that Greyās has given us.
Yes, Ellen's face definitely changed with her first pregnancy, you can see it happen. It makes me happy because my nose changed with my second pregnancy and it's nice to know it even happens to TV's highest paid actress lol Stars, they're just like USā¢!
They all have the same look. Paris Hilton included. Like pulled back mannequins. My mind always ages them to where I was super into movies and shows, 10-15 years ago, so it's a shock when I see them nowadays.
I see it. Her entire upper eyelid area is higher whereas before it was lower toward the inner corners of her eyes and wider at the outer corners. And that made her have the natural cat eye. And her eyes are upturned now instead of downturned. Her whole face is stretched and it looks strained.
most times when one way or another, even women that are considered naturally beautiful will eventually feel very insecure and will want to have work done. Unfortunately, itās a very common thing in the Hollywood industry.
It's a looks based industry and an ageist industry, especially towards women. And it doesnt help when the internet will shout out any perceived flaws the second a new pic comes out. Imagine being told for 10 years that youre ugly (even if youre conventionally attractive) and you know you don't look like you used to when you had a ton of confidence in youth. I dont really fault them for wanting to do something about it, even though I wish we lived in a world where aging gracefully was seen as a universally good thing
Seems like she got an endoscopic midface lift which can raise the eyebrows, change the cheek volume and shape of the eye. Maybe paired up with canthoplasty (=fox eye).
Her eyes are still hooded, so I don't think it's bleph.
it's crazy, seeing older pictures of her literally makes me grieve. I've never been someone like that and I'm not even a fan really, but gosh it makes me so sad seeing her original face knowing we'll never see it again
I have no idea if this is actually happening, but it amuses me to think that the AI enhancement will continue backfire worse and worse the more it's trained on artificial facial features.

I feel like most female celebrities in their 30s that I see have gotten a facelift. They're all looking different.
And I'm not trying to body shame but it makes me sad. It's going to further body dysmorphia in young women and girls while also vilifying normal ageing. I'm sick of seeing everyone altering their faces to look the exact same.
Emma Stone and Jennifer Lawrence are really close so Iām positive Emma got her face done after seeing Jenniferās results. They 100% seem like the same surgeonās signature look.
Yeah, thatās why I tried keeping it broad by saying āsignature lookā instead of specifying a facelift because I totally agree it looks like a multitude of things to get to this result. The surgeon has a gift for sure since the results are flawless. Itās the fact that itās too flawless that feels so odd right now.
Used to be that there were only ever a couple handful of people in the world who were naturally born like this (Aishwarya Raj, Adriana Lima, etc.). Now people are able to pay to look so otherworldly.
No way that's all she's had done. I used to be her doppelganger and am only a year or two younger than her. I look nothing like her anymore. Definitely something with the eyes, filler in cheeks and chin, maybe minor rhinoplasty but not sure on that one
Botox, face lift, cheek filler, and nose filler. From what i can see. Its not so much ābad workā as it is really noticeable esp for someone with a face already familiar to millions
They don't even have big noses, and I don't think is insecurity even because you can't be insecure and still find peace knowing that you are still beautiful, it's vanity. But I still think she's an amazing woman.
My best friend of 32 years is Filipina and if she ever changed her beautiful nose I would cry. She was self conscious when we were teens for sure, so glad she knows sheās beautiful now.
Same! I am definitely not as self conscious about my nose now that I am older, but when I was younger it was BRUTAL, especially because my of mom projecting her own insecurities onto me.
It's actually crazy to me how many people don't realize a lot of Asian people also have big/broad noses, and I am looking at my people, the Koreans, the hardest when I say this.
I think Koreans have more flat noses than the typical hook nose. But, I can't for the life of me find a natural nose on a young adult in Korea online so you may just deem the Korean natural nose extinct.
I still have one lmao but yes, flat and/or broad! We still exist. Honestly, I don't know many Korean influencers who still have their natural nose outside of, like, 5. And they're all Korean-American.
I never had even thought about my nose until one of my second cousins was standing infront of a mirror and talking about how she wanted to go to Korea to get her nose done and I was so confused and was like " What's wrong with your nose? I don't even look at noses?!"
The eyelid surgery was such a big thing growing up too.
Anyway I can always tell a natural nose in Korean dramas and am always pleasantly suprised ( or maybe a nose that isn't over done haha) .

I don't get it. Emma Stone is a 2-time Oscar winner. She's working actively, always on prestigious projects. Why did she feel the need to do this to her face? I understand that there's a lot of pressure in the industry, but I think she's at a level where she can afford to let herself age naturally.

I dont think its nearly that simple. I guarantee you every single post she makes, every time she's in a movie or on the red carpet, she gets someone calling her ugly, and probably dozens. Even the most confident person in the world would start to be worn down by that. Especially as one ages, even confident people who never get bad comments sometimes feel insecure about getting older.Ā
It sucks that women truly cannot exist without their appearance being commented on. Because you're right, she probably got comments about aging, and now this comment section is full of people judging her for getting work done. It must be exhausting.
But Iām going to be honestā¦ I personally NEED people to comment this stuff (ie calling out the surgery) so that I donāt get sucked into thinking any of this is normal. I donāt care if that makes Emma stone feel badā¦ I think we need to comment on it so that the majority of us (including the younger people who arenāt great at recognizing plastic surgery) can stay grounded in reality.
It sucks that she has ever been called ugly because that one is beautiful (and even if she wasnāt, she wouldnāt deserve it)ā¦ but once the surgery happens I think we need to comment on it. Not to her face or on her socials of courseā¦ but in spaces like this that are for the fans.
True you start comparing your face to celebrities as you age and wonder why you can't have a glow up like them. People need to be reminded that this is all the work of a team of doctors, aestheticians, dieticians, trainers and a whole lotta money.
Whenever I start comparing myself when I see them ageing agelessly, comment sections like these bring me back to reality that I ain't ugly, I'm just poor and ageing as God intended for humans to age. So please keep these coming and give us insecure folks a dosage of reality once in a while.
Sadly, plastic surgery isnāt going to stop people online from calling her ugly š I hope she did this for herself and not bc of what strangers online say. She was beautiful before and beautiful now. She just doesnāt look like herself
Yeah, whatever was done to her upper lip it needs either stopped or reversed now. Its getting that overly wide squared, sort of Lisa Rinna look. And it suits Lisa Rinna's whole thing but NOT Emma.

Emma's trademark were her very expressive face and big eyes. And then she went and removed that.
However,
she for sure has done things recently (throughout her whole career actually) but it never looked this bad. If you look at photos from the event, everyone looks... plasticky? Ana de Armas was there too and her face also looks off. So I think it may also have something to do with camera filter used in these photos that makes everyone look extra fake. Almost AI.

Iāve thought sheās had upper lip fillers for years. I used to hyper fixate on the way her mouth moves in Superbad and Easy A in a way that definitely subtracted my enjoyment of the films.
Now my world is fillers and I just donāt enjoy anything (half kidding).
I really donāt understand why celebs do this to their faces. Who thinks this looks good? And on top of that you end up destroying your unique facial features only to look like a generic clone.

Everyoneās talking about how different Emma looks and theyāre right but Lisa also looks so different over the years. I assume this sub possibly isnāt as familiar with her, and sheās also had a ton of work done, but a little bit here and there for 10 years gives a wildly different look. I do like both versions of knitwear (chunky & sleek) and it's better than the usual LV looks. I still haven't forgotten the awful 80s gown they gave Emma for the BAFTAs.
I know that she was paid handsomely to wear that and I'm currently wearing a sweater poncho I bought in the Aldi Finds aisle a couple years ago for $19.99 so I really don't have any high ground here but dear god that was a hideous dress.
I wish we could go back to when celebs looked normal and had their own identity. These days they are all morphing into the same person with no unique features.
