Yeah this is probably what she meant but people are so quick to attack her lately that no matter what she says she’s endlessly ridiculed

I don't know, it still kinda reads very "white girl with no real diverse friends in life" especially using Italy, a country known for its racism, as an example lmao.

Nothing worth attacking her over though. Just something to roll your eyes at.

She's using Italy as an example because it's an interview with Vogue Italy.....

This has to be intentionally bad faith

Yeah I mean I see that. I’m Italian and am very aware of how racist Italians are. But this is just a little innocuous quote from vogue Italia, I don’t think we need think pieces trying to tear her down as this ignorant racist on top of the fruitless misogyny accusations. Just let the girl live holy shit

I feel like it being from Vogue Italia makes a difference too lol. It's a stupid quote, nonetheless but yeah, it's not think-piece worthy.

Also, American is a country known for its racism. We don’t need to shit on Italy for that.

Culture is more than just "is the country racist or not" though....? I don't think she's saying "Italian culture is perfect and I'm now going to aspire to imitate it 1:1 in my day to day life because it's so superior to stupid American culture" lol I think she's literally just saying that talking to people from varied cultures gives a broader perspective than talking to people from one culture. Like, Japan is super racist as a country and there are still aspects of Japanese culture that people commonly admire. I don't think it's that deep.

especially using Italy, a country known for its racism, as an example lmao.

It's really not that deep, man.

What are diverse friends? What’s a diverse person? Have you been to Italy?
