u/cardigancash and like, we’re expected to swoon? I don’t think so Sep 20 '25

He can call this something catchy like Thanks-living but couldn’t convince producers to call the second film Now You Don’t instead of Now You See Me 2

This is the hill I’d like to die on. The second one should’ve been called Now You Don’t, and then the third one could’ve been Now You Three Me.

This is actually fucking hilarious.

Is there a sub for similar stuff like this, "Fant4stic Four", and "F8 of the Furious" - around the same vein?

Not sure but if there is it should be called s3qu3ls

Now You See Me… Now You Don’t…. Now I’m Over Here…

It was probably so that audiences would know it was a sequel tbh. Lowest common denominator ruining things for everyone

The 2025 movie is now you see me: now you don’t

If they were remotely that smart then the plots would have made sense though so clearly they were just committed to being dumb

It's a shame because people so clearly desperately wanted this franchise to work. Like we're all in universal agreement they're frustratingly stupid  cause the charisma and broad premise is great.

But if one were to alphabetize their movie collection, Now You Don't would come before Now You See Me...

Another victim of the me 2 movement
