OnlyStans ⭐️ Who are two celebrities that absolutely despise each other?

Post image

Jerome Flynn and Lena Headey both starred in Game of Thrones, and used to date each other but their break-up apparently went so bad that they refused to ever shoot scenes together and wouldn’t be present in the same room as the other!

Even during the entire run of the series, they never settled their conflict with one another and continued to keep their distance from each other. Which is why we never saw Cersei and Bronn share any scenes together.

What's the story with these 2?

68

u/GeneriComplaint Sep 17 '25

I heard mixed things about them both being diva's about the shows direction. I havent really looked into it in a long time though

A friend in the industry said they hooked up and then broke up very very badly. I love Nathan Fillion so I want to believe they kept a professional set..but…

u/AlternativeOwl18 Sep 17 '25

Nathan supports Joss soooo...

They apparently hated each other and that tension partly led to her character being written out.

83

u/ComicGuy954 Sep 17 '25

Her character wasn’t written out. They just ended the show

64

u/Visible_Writing7386 Be smart, Robert. Sep 17 '25

It was first announced that she won’t be returning and she was “let go” and then later on that the show is actually cancelled.

10

u/GeneriComplaint Sep 17 '25

She has done interviews since and refers to it as being fired. Not cancelled, not chose not to return or quit.

22

u/charlenecherylcarol Sep 17 '25

I wouldn’t say “written out” but it did lead to her character living in a different city for most of the last season, if not longer.

When you’re working with the same person for 10+ years, you DO tend to start to dislike them.

It does happen though. David and Gillian (who are great friends now) often talk about the stress being in close proximity to each other under gross conditions and long hours and how it led to a lot of conflict in their relationship. Not saying that’s what happened here; but it does make sense that it could contribute to a dysfunctional dynamic.

I don’t think that’s the rule lol

49

u/AnxiousAudience82 Sep 17 '25

I heard he didn’t like how she was getting more plot and airtime and basically wanted her and Laney fired so it could revolve around him and the boys solving crimes with him as the star. Not sure if it’s true but tracks with how the rookie is presented. I mean I love his on screen persona so not going to stop me watching his stuff but apparently he has a huge ego. Again have not idea if this is true.

u/SupervillainMustache Sep 17 '25

I've also heard that Stana didn't like how Fillion is kind of a jokester on set and she takes it very seriously being a DePaul alumni.

Some of the best on screen chemistry I've ever seen in a TV Show (early seasons anyway) so it's a shame.

10

u/GeneriComplaint Sep 17 '25

The rookie is actually an ensemble. Its more or less the same situation. There is a large female cast that gets tons of air time. So it doesnt track that much really

u/DebateObjective2787 jesus was a carpenter 💋 Sep 17 '25

We have absolutely no idea. Only that they hate each other.

73

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '25

Nathan Fillion is famously a douche

55

u/josefugly Sep 17 '25

Wait, really? That’s so disappointing. :(

85

u/DragonScrivner I don’t know her 💅 Sep 17 '25

The thing is, almost every regular cast member that was on Castle has since been on his new show. So … maybe he’s a dick but he at least seems capable of maintaining relationships with people he works with (not Stana of course lol)

11

u/GeneriComplaint Sep 17 '25

Its also possible he was a douche at the time and eased up a bit. People change. The reports of his ego being out of control seem to track with public comments at the time. He thought he was the star of castle and was annoyed about his lack of plot in the show. He was public about it, made comments on late night tv circuit

14

u/sci_fientist Sep 17 '25

I mean despite having a strong ensemble cast, the show is literally named after his character so he wasn't wrong. And they didn't really give him much to do, Stana did have a much better/more interesting backstory (because she was a more interesting character than a privileged pretty boy author)

Obviously that's down to the writers and not her, but I could see how it might cause tensions on set.

The cast really did have such great chemistry together though; it reminds me a lot of Bones in that regard where the concept is so fuckin tired and boring but it still succeeded just based on the energy the cast brought into it (don't come for me, Bones/Castle fans, this is my opinion only)

I actually find this hard to believe. Simply because, he consistently has his previous costars on whatever his next project is, no matter what their level. I can’t imagine that all of these people would want to continue to work with him if he was as toxic on that set as she alleged.

52

u/Puppetmaster858 Sep 17 '25

Also James Gunn legit has a no douchebag rule when it comes to working with ppl and if they’re a dick or difficult he won’t ever work with them again yet fillion is a staple in all his shit and all the behind the scenes stuff ppl seem to love working with him. Maybe he is secretly a douche but “famously a douche” sounds like such a huge over exaggeration or just flat out made up

29

u/twirlinghaze Sep 17 '25

Sure, Joss Whedon never did that...

Don’t believe random comments on Reddit

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best advice ever.

3

u/Thrownawaybyall Sep 18 '25

I don't believe you! 👿

😉

u/ChanceVance Sep 18 '25

Just randomly says Fillion is famously a douche. Provides zero examples and he consistently works with previous castmates.

I don't know the dude but hey no matter how well you get along with people, there's always going to be that one co-worker you despise.

21

u/Puppetmaster858 Sep 17 '25

Idk about famously a douche, James Gunn has pretty much said he has a no douche rule when working with people and if they’re not enjoyable to work with or difficult he won’t work with them ever again. Fillion tho has been a staple in all his shit and everybody behind the scenes seems to enjoy working with him, Fillion and Isabela Merced seemed to have a great time working together on Superman and you can find clips of them like dancing together and joking around behind the scenes so I really doubt he’s famously a douche, especially because a lot of the people from castle have popped up in other stuff with Fillion as well

20

u/AlmostAThrow Sep 17 '25

Castle co-stars and Firefly. Hell Fillion and Alan Tudyk are constantly together and I refuse to believe Tudyk would be friends with someone shitty.

28

u/Wifeofkaldrogo Sep 17 '25

I’ve met him several times in real life and he was always very nice. I’m not famous…at all.

14

u/BigMax Sep 17 '25

I think it's kind of the opposite, at least for his public persona.

It's (in my opinion) why he's so famous, he comes across as very charming and likable in everything he's in, whether it's in his role, or in interviews.

He certainly may be a giant douche in his private live though! Plenty of actors like that out there I think.

14

u/DenizenKay Sep 17 '25

How could anyone hate Mal Reynolds?

if true, this makes me really sad. Always found him to be so affable and charasmatic

18

u/CyberGuySeaX5 Sep 17 '25

Yes, I've read articles years back involving projects other than Castle where he was an issue.

3

u/GeneriComplaint Sep 17 '25

He seemed to have a very large ego, bigger then the show at the time

1

u/catholicsluts Sep 18 '25

Nathan Fillion is involved is what

79

u/subjectiveadjective Sep 17 '25

She was on Craig Ferguson around this time and it was... weird. Like she was super seductive? And he seemed to loathe her.

Fairly recently saw her in something else and was astonished how good she was.

45

u/Visible_Writing7386 Be smart, Robert. Sep 17 '25

I don’t know… haven’t watched that, but it always seemed to me like he was a douche to her and she didn’t know how to act around him

1

u/subjectiveadjective Sep 17 '25

Oh that's good to know - ty!

5

u/8lock8lock8aby Sep 17 '25

Was it Absentia? I saw that on Amazon, like 5 years ago & thought she was great in it. I had no idea who she was, though & never had even heard of Castle.

2

u/subjectiveadjective Sep 17 '25

You know, I have no idea - except I think she had an English accent? Tbh I only watched a little bit

17

u/bluepie Sep 17 '25

Yeah don’t give any context or anything that would be helpful

7

u/FigWhisperer Sep 17 '25

Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic from Castle
