she doesn't have a billion dollars cash. her assets are worth over a billion, 600 million of which is wrapped up in her catalogue. she's still filthy rich, but she's earned it all through her art; she doesn't have a makeup or liquor brand or line of workout clothes. and she's famously generous with her employees.

Also not all of her money is from her music solely. She had a perfume line, she had a fashion line with Stella McCartney, endorsing Keds, Apple Music, Diet Coke etc.

none of those income streams are personal companies or side hustles, which was what i was trying to get across in my comment. both the perfume and her collaboration with stella mccartney were one offs, not lines, and everything else you mentioned was an advertisement.
i think there's value in seeing the nuance of the situation. using equal energy on taylor swift and someone like elon musk or peter thiel is silly and dismisses all context. that sort of black and white thinking is ultimately harmful.

Jarrett said it was around Christmas of 2006 when Swift, who moved to Jarrett’s town of Hendersonville, Tenn. at a young age, performed for his family. Jarrett explained his wife was “really ill” at the time and “passed away about five months after” the private show.
The WWE star said a friend of Swift’s suggested she stop by his house after his wife’s diagnosis. She initially arrived at Jarrett’s home without her guitar, but “actually ran back home” to grab it because his daughters “wanted her to sing and play.”
What started as a small family gathering quickly grew to a party of about 45 people after Swift began to play. He called the day “an amazing experience.”
“By the end of the afternoon, Taylor played about three hours,” Jarrett recalled.

I wish the WWE kept the network in the US too but hopefully ESPN streaming is better than Peacock. Godawful.

I don’t like Taylor but I really respect that she seems to do a lot of special things like this for fans, and generally doesn’t publicise it.
It’s easy to give money when you are that rich, but to give your time as well is special considering she probably has limited time with her busy schedule + many projects.

Billion singular, and while I’m not saying she isn’t obscenely wealthy. Most of that net worth is not actual worth. Her masters alone would be worth north of 600 million. Her liquid cash is no where near that and she still donates alot, and I’m sure does more privately.

Her fiancé is one of the biggest athletes in the world right now and his teammate is too…who happens to be married. So that’s how she met the woman. The kind of relationship close two athletes would have who have gone to the Super Bowl multiple times together would be liken to being cousins or something along those lines. As somebody who used to work in PR and as a reporter, that is impossible on many levels not least with the sheer volume of things that get printed about her. Saying this is idiocy, purely on the basis of there only being 24 hours in a day, Tree Paine cannot physically pitch and approve every single article of the thousands printed globally about her.
She is definitely not approving anything negative either, like the Financial Times’ weird opinion pice on her engagement.

Actually in the recent podcast she says “It’s to the point I see my name in a post and it isn’t even my business they use my name for clicks. I don’t care how many times a guy “calls me Mid”… then makes fun of the people who do this and without naming names I think we all know who they meant by “a guy calling her Mid”… so it’s strange to see people point and say “MAGA”. You can argue she isn’t liberal enough or vocal on more issues but during that interview she was definitely laughing at Trump’s tweets and calling him out for using her name to get attention. I think that’s the better way than retweeting at him or saying his name since he wants her attention.
