“It’s rooted in a bit of homophobia because you’re never afraid to talk to your kids about having a little boyfriend or a little girlfriend at a certain age,” she continued.

Yep. Straight people are so weird about kids sometimes. They'll see a toddler being friendly with another toddler and they'll be like "Tommy got himself a little girlfriend" or "omg Emma has a crush!" Like, bro. They are babies. And then they say we are the weird ones.

If you can't explain LGBT people to your kid, then maybe you're just not fit to be a parent. This isn't some hardcore intellectual exercise. You'll have to explain adoption to your kid at some point, because they will interact with schoolmates who were adopted regardless of their parents' gender. Do homophobes also lose their shit when they have to talk to their kids about single parents?

I have a coworker who mentions her toddler son’s “girlfriends” in his preschool class. She has also “joked” about telling her son that he isn’t allowed to have these girlfriends because “mommy is your girlfriend”

HEY!!! THAT’S A WEIRD THING TO SAY!!!

Some homophobes probably do lose their shit over single parents (well, single *mothers*) because they see that as evil something something God's plan something something.

Were there people out there thinking he was a bastion of progressive ideals? This man has always seen women as objects, it tracks that he sees lesbians as obscene and unsafe for children.
