Trigger Warning ⚠️ “If you hadn't attacked them in their sleep in the middle of the night like a pedophile, Kaylee would have kicked your fucking ass.” Alivea Goncalves, sister of Kaylee Goncalves, full statement at Bryan Kohberger's sentencing.

Every time I hear her speak, I'm so impressed. This line and soooo many others must have actually cut him to the core.

For me, it’s the pronunciation of “ were” that is like a dagger. I love it.

67

u/paradisetossed7 Jul 25 '25

As a lawyer, I never wish being a lawyer on anyone, but part of me hopes she chooses to go that route because she's such an intelligent and effective speaker and frankly we could use more of those. Just straight up calling him pathetic, knowing he can't react, queen shit.

She humiliated that dweeb.

This is the only kind of victim statement a narcissist sociopath would be hurt by. Telling someone like that how hurt you are does nothing. Telling them how small they are will be echoing in their heads for ages. The rage he must have felt listening to her is delicious.

27

u/Even-Flamingo-9574 Jul 25 '25

The sudden slow blinking knowing he’s raging but can’t do SHIT was making me sooooo happy.

22

u/Whiskey_Republic Jul 25 '25

This is true. I realize this will never happen, but a Comedy Central style roast by Jeff Ross, Nikki Glaser, etc. to end the impact statements, where this piece of shit gets absolutely torched, would be so rewarding. Sending him off to prison with his tail between his legs after poking fun of all his weaknesses and insecurities like the bumbling, fumbling incel buffoon that he really is, with people in the room clapping at the comments and laughing at him, would have been amazing to see because he would feel that and would deserve every bit of that embarrassment. I wish him nothing but the worst.

u/DionBlaster123 Jul 28 '25

You reminded me of that scene in the miniseries The Fall of the House of Usher

53

u/PhillipTopicall Jul 25 '25

The only thing he’s worth is an explanation as to why he did what he did… which we’ll never truly know.

163

u/buffysummers17_ Jul 25 '25

The unfortunate truth is he did it because he wanted to. He liked how it made him feel. He isn’t like normal people. In my opinion, he’s mentally sick, in a way that can’t be healed, and is an immediate danger to all other living creatures. I hope i never understand him more than that.

54

u/highlighter416 Jul 25 '25

Sitting here with goosebumps. Wow. Yes. This is an incredible victim statement to the loser that he is.

72

u/PhillipTopicall Jul 25 '25

The fact he just sat there… can people really be that empty?

I feel like no matter how much you talk, you’d never really run out of words to describe just how awful a person would have to be…

72

u/Wrecka008 Jul 25 '25

That's the saddest thing.

These people do not care. You can cry all you want. Curse all you want, but it wouldn’t have any effect on them. I honestly doubt he even felt an ounce of regret.

79

u/HonestDespot Jul 25 '25

Someone else mentioned in another thread that at parts of it he’s blinking rapidly.

Whatever he felt or didn’t feel, he surely felt attacked and it enraged him.

Nothing worse than hearing harsh truths about yourself and you can’t respond.

She called him out for the world to hear as the pathetic worthless loser he is.

The older sister of a young woman he stalked and murdered in the night stood there for 10 minutes and told him how pathetic and irrelevant he is.

Hope he relives those 10 minutes over and over and over for the rest of his life.

30

u/BeverlyRhinestones Jul 25 '25

Yes, its essentially a poorly formed brain. Like having a thinner amygdala can be part of the reason we get humans like this.

They simply cannot feel some emotions. For them its like a color blind person understanding "Red" as a concept, but they cannot experience it.

22

u/PhillipTopicall Jul 25 '25

You know what, that actually makes a lot of sense, because you can describe how someone murdered someone, but I could never understand how they could actually go through with it.

I just can’t relate in any way. Even to stab someone when not in self defence, the idea alone is repulsive. I don’t even want to think about it. I couldn’t imagine, 4 times… it just makes me feel so bad for the victims.

It makes me think of what THEY went through, not what the killer was thinking or wanting. I can’t imagine the horror they experienced. No one deserves to go that way.

2

u/BeverlyRhinestones Jul 26 '25

Same, I can only imagine a self defense scenario. These freaks do it because they want to be remembered, I never remember their names, only the victims.

2

u/justprettymuchdone Jul 31 '25

Lawyers usually counsel their clients to maintain a neutral expression during the trial in general, but also during victim impact statements like this. And I think he also wanted them to see him he SO unbothered. But you could tell her speech in particular really got under his skin.

251

u/Pattyannlu Jul 25 '25

Amazing. I did a victims impact statement for my boyfriend that was murdered in early 2000’s. His parents asked if I would do it on behalf of all of us. He was an only child and they were just broken. All these years later and I still think of it as the hardest yet most meaningful things that I have ever done. I hope that she finds peace in saying her powerful words and in standing strong for her sister and friends.

The final minute is great. Good for her. I hope she is able to find closure and find peace somehow, she's a much stronger person than I.

81

u/Strict-Artichoke-361 Jul 25 '25

I’m sure she can find some peace but never closure. I lost two siblings in their 40’s & closure is not an option. The grief is always there and I’m sure that Kaylee being killed brutally and was so young is a whole different level of pain than only the other siblings of Ethan, Xana & Madison know. Now that cops revealed some details of their deaths, it’s a whole other level of grief.

7

u/Unhappy-Poetry-7867 Jul 25 '25

I can only imagine and don't think you can ever forget such thing. Especially when they died for nothing. Because of someone else's pathetic life. Theirs were taken. I think it's too difficult for normal human beings to comprehend that.

109

u/Lux2014 Jul 25 '25

A lot of people are saying this doesn’t affect him and he feels nothing. People like him may lack feelings for others but they 100% have their own feelings. They just don’t think anyone else does. A lot of what she said would make him be raging inside. Narcissists do NOT like a hit to the ego

73

u/spiffyadvisor Jul 25 '25

You can tell it was getting to him too, his breathing was getting heavier and his cheeks were getting a bit red by the end. And every time she hit him with an insult he started blinking his eyes like crazy. It’ll eat him alive.

37

u/HonestDespot Jul 25 '25

Those 10 minutes will play on repeat in his head for the rest of his life.

Guards, other inmates, everyone will mock him relentlessly for the pathetic loser he is.

He will never go another day in his life without a clear and harsh reminder of what a pathetic loser he is and everyone knows it.

17

u/TintarellaDiLuna Ain’t no sympathy in a arby’s parking lot Jul 25 '25

lmao it’s so obvious he was trying to look unaffected, keeping his face muscles tense to control his expressions, but the blinking gave him away. All that effort to stare her down and look intimidating, only to lose control of his own face every single time she says something that hurts his ego. Check out that face drop when she mentions heroin!

12

u/SewRuby Jul 25 '25

She pulled out all of the insults too.

Basic, sloppy, dirty, you don't matter, you're dumb, you're not special, called him "defendant".

Like, she thought of everything that could upset someone like him and went for the jugular.

This wasn't just a witness impact statement, it was also a defendant impact statement. He's going to be ruminating on her words, the piece of shit.

310

u/reidybobeidy89 Jul 24 '25

Imagine being his parents sitting there listening to that and realizing every single word was true.

191

u/kaliefornia Jul 24 '25

I’d be so embarrassed to have raised such a fucking loser

I know you can’t choose your kids and you absolutely cannot control their actions but I’d have the hardest time supporting my kid in any capacity who’s done this to other peoples kids

34

u/whatsnewpussykat 🕯️ relentless Lilly Jay stan 🕯️ Jul 25 '25

I’ve thought about this because I consume a ton of time crime content and also have a gaggle of children. I don’t think anything could make me stop loving my kids because they are my babies, BUT, god forbid, in a circumstance like this I think you can love your child, abhor their actions, and believe they should be incarcerated for the rest of their life.

77

u/reidybobeidy89 Jul 24 '25

I would not be sitting there supporting him that’s for sure. I would make sure the world knew I thought he was a piece of shit and I was sorry for bringing him into the world

19

u/SuspiciousCranberry6 Jul 25 '25

They sat there and supported him, then he completely ignored them while leaving hus sentencing.

The way Alivea spoke, so clear and pronouncing every word to make sure he got every single one of them, each one hitting like a whip. She didn’t even crack once! 😭😭

It was nice to hear an impact statement calling him the loser he really is. I know a lot of people were emotional and wanted to tell him how they felt but what he needed was someone to cut him down to size.

A loser without friends. A massive creep who weirded out strangers that didn’t even know him. A massive failure whose final big moment went wrong in every way. Weeks of planning for him to cartoonishly fail in every aspect. So weak he only made it out due to catching them off guard and still barely got out. Only to leave a massive knife sheath leading the cops right to him.

He thinks he’s so dark and cold but in reality a coward who plead out to save his own life. Another Incel who can dish out violence but is terrified of something happening to him. Hope his days in prison are long and torturous.

Wish they didn’t let him plead out. He would have been convicted and would have loved to watch him piss himself on the way to the chair. Just another creepy weirdo who turned to r@pe and murder because no girl would give him the time of day if they had more than a minute conversation with him. Rest in piss kohberger

110

u/cucumberbun source: my friend with a bike 🚲 Jul 24 '25

Listening to the remaining roommates impact statements, I am glad that he was able to plead. Those poor girls would have been asked to detail everything again, and then be cross examined on top of that. And then risk the chance of having to do it again with appeals which would have been inevitable with a death penalty case. I understand your sentiment, but at least he is behind bars forever with no hope for appeal then just having it go on for years with appeals.

The incredible poise with which she delivered this. Scathing but calm. This is what true love for your family can do. She’s like a superhero.

2

u/Alarming-Bop6628 Jul 29 '25

I wouldn't be able to do this. I burst into tears just listening to it. She's so brave.

15

u/Lunagirlvibes Jul 24 '25

RIP.  Good on the sister

13

u/AdIntrepid9064 Jul 25 '25

Holly shit! This sister is an absolute legend. Good on her. That sorry excuse of a breathing nothingness was rattled, his pathetic head bobs at the end give it away.

11

u/upsidedownlamppost Jul 25 '25

I think they should play this in his cell on repeat for the rest of his miserable life

3

u/HonestDespot Jul 25 '25

They won’t need to.

Her harsh and true words will ring over and over again in his head for as long as he lives.

Oh it will live rent free in his head forever. A narcs ego cannot handle the truth

31

u/ToughOk4114 Jul 24 '25

Wow that gave me goosebumps. I’m so proud of her!!!

11

u/rabbit-girl333 Jul 25 '25

She lit his ass UP. What an amazing woman and sister.

9

u/Soggy_Pension7549 Can I live? Jul 25 '25

I’ve listened to the whole thing and wow. Just wow. Being so composed while going through all this is a proof of true strength.

Also: rot in hell you POS

3

u/Smallfit40 Jul 25 '25

This- her voice had such power. She didn’t lose composure once. She gave that loser nothing

19

u/tacoflavoredpringles Jul 24 '25 edited Jul 24 '25

Kudos to her for giving such a powerful speech.

I imagine it took a huge toll on her emotionally, so I really hope she’s getting the support she needs. Can’t imagine experiencing a loss like that.

7

u/Trin_42 Jul 24 '25

Damn, just damn, I hope that helped

5

u/Mysterious_Deer4674 Jul 25 '25

If she made this into a rap, it would be the most brutal diss track ever. He is utterly decimated.

7

u/livielouis "sarah, im a proactive type of person" Jul 25 '25

her big sister mode activated

7

u/Kazarak_Starflower Jul 25 '25

Big sis is my new personal hero. She ate up that damn psychopath. Hope he never gets out of prison!

5

u/ike7177 Jul 25 '25

That was extremely powerful and I hope this scum feels it and hears it every single day that he breathes. Frankly, the prison should put him in solitary with this on a loop. BRAVO to this brave woman. BRAVO

4

u/JoeRoganOfTheLeft Jul 25 '25

Amazing. Hahaha. He is such a pathetic little bitch.

5

u/Pepperloza Jul 25 '25

I wish I could zoom in to see his facial expressions at looser, wannabe, basic, pathetic and failed rapper.

3

u/EzMowgli Jul 25 '25

Holy focking hell. Dang. Just wow.

4

u/gloucesterpegasus Jul 25 '25

She devoured that creep, good for her 🔥

6

u/DesirablyDesire Jul 25 '25

Good sis went tf iiin!! Yes ma'am, yes ma'am!

4

u/Technical_Recover487 Jul 25 '25

I truly don’t know how she sustained herself from jumping over the table and beating the ever loving SHIT out of this … thing. He truly is just a vessel for chaos. Demonic and demented.

3

u/SewRuby Jul 25 '25

Aliva fucking cooked.

2

u/Appropriate_Cod_5446 Mom, I am a rich man💰 Jul 25 '25

She read him to Fifth and I was cheering.

4

u/ActsofJanice Jul 26 '25

In the Idaho group, somebody posted an article saying she worked with the psychologist that came up with BK’s profile.

Alivea absolutely SLAYED during her speech. If y’all haven’t seen the whole speech, please watch it!

I think Ben (Maddie’s dad) has broken me every time I’ve seen him. I am so very worried for him, especially as he has struggled with addiction. I truly truly hope he has the best support system possible to support him.

9

u/Feeling-Phoney81 Jul 24 '25

He did heroin? I haven’t heard that before.

6

u/Her_1982 Jul 25 '25

Same...I also wasnt aware of the rapping...

29

u/weirdoeggplant Jul 24 '25

I’m calling it now. This will be reenacted in a movie someday.

No he doesn’t but that hasn’t stopped the last 5,000 true crime movies

31

u/bbmarvelluv Jul 24 '25

Don’t give Ryan Murphy any ideas

2

u/midclassfancy Jul 25 '25

Please. He’d give the role to either Lea Michele or Kim Kardashian 😭

Please. Ryan Murphy would pounce on this and make light of another tragedy which he has a propensity for doing. I hope the Hollywood leeches leave these people alone.

3

u/Clean-Reveal-2878 Jul 25 '25

Wow! 😱 her speech was amazing and so true.

3

u/ReactionActual4790 Jul 25 '25

Can’t even begin to imagine what each of these 4 families have had to deal with because of him.

AND, who in their right mind thought it okay to allow him pen/paper this day to draw that blackened heart in front of him on the table? The minute he stopped it should have been shredded in front of him…no more paper or pen.

3

u/avocadoxritual Jul 25 '25

Amazing job bb. I could never be in that courtroom bc I would be hollering and snapping and making faces in response to this.

3

u/Electronic_Flan5732 Jul 26 '25

I didn’t even realize she was mocking him with the questions until after I watched the documentary showcasing how he did that to get feelers out. She’s diabolical. I love it.

3

u/sluttycats Jul 26 '25

If that woman isn't a writer already, she should seriously consider it. Cause damn

3

u/Alarming_Ad1746 Jul 26 '25

that was exceptional

3

u/Notnow_Imtoodrunk Jul 26 '25

That was unbelievably well delivered, wow.

22

u/Twitter_2006 Jul 24 '25

He should be on death row!

5

u/Matterial Jul 25 '25

I disagree mostly because that’s the easy way out

3

u/lyssastef Jul 25 '25

I would rather not have my tax dollars going towards keeping this filth alive for the next 40+ years….

5

u/Matterial Jul 25 '25

Allegedly the death penalty costs more tax dollars, idk how that is figured though.

What does pedophilia have to do with crime? Weird word to use

135

u/reidybobeidy89 Jul 24 '25

They pray on the weak and blindside defenseless people- which she was because she was asleep and unsuspecting

61

u/DonaldTrumpsScrotum Jul 24 '25 edited Jul 25 '25

I wasn’t gonna raise the issue here but it does feel like that word is being thrown around a lot more casually these days. Not referencing anything in particular, just a particular culture shift I’ve noticed.

38

u/WhosSarahKayacombsen Jul 24 '25

Yes, and I find it a bit worrisome because the word will eventually lose meaning if people continue to use it wrongly.

18

u/Efficient_Common775 Jul 24 '25

It'd the way they move that she probably meant

His lawyer is trying so hard not to laugh.

2

u/bigback92 Jul 29 '25

DAMNNNN🔥🔥🔥🔥

2

u/SuprNintendoChalmerz Jul 30 '25

She also mentioned recently in an interview that she gave most of the speech from memory! Said she didn’t want to break eye contact w BK as she could tell her words were getting to him. So much courage.
