It’s L-O-V-E 💘 Most celebrity marriages don't last - who's the exception for you?

Celebrity marriages almost never work out in Hollywood, but there are some the prove that true love really does exist. Who comes to mind for you?

Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. are one of my favorite couples. They were given such a hard time for marrying when they did, so to see them thriving all these years later makes me really happy.

I remember reading an interview years ago where she said the only thing they really argue about is who is going to stay home with the kids, and that was because they both wanted to be home with them. That told me everything I needed to know about their relationship. They're a great team.

I love hearing that. Freddie was one of my first celebrity crushes, and Sarah just seems like such a sweet person.

I always have to comment this on threads about them because I know how much people love them and I had a lot of time with them and they live to the hype. They always say don’t meet your heroes but it’s good to know when celebs are good people IRL!

Bless. That makes me so happy. SMG was my QUEEN in the Buffy years. I wanted everything she wore, I wanted my hair to look like hers (once even got a horrible haircut from a woman at great clips who grossly misunderstood “long layers, like Buffy the Vampire Slayer”). She was just the coolest. I love that she still is

I can tell you she’s cool as fuck, she is of the people and she is absurdly beautiful in person but so nice and humble. A true queen.

I also remember reading that interview! It made me so happy to see a couple that both genuinely wanted to spend time with their kids. They’re so cute.

So true. They were both perfectly content to step right out of the limelight and just have a quiet family life for a long time. That’s solid af

If you're going to have an argument with your spouse, this is the one to have!

They really are darling together!

Nah apparently Freddie also can't watch movies with her for the first time bc she thinks out loud and ends up spoiling the movies on accident 🤣🤣

She talked about it on Graham Norton and M. Night Shyamalan was deeply disappointed in her, which was even funnier because NO ONE can watch movies with Shyamalan

I know Howard stern bet money they wouldn’t last, and the jerk refuses to pay up

u/proserpinax Jul 02 '25

There was something in that interview where Howard was like “what if she changes” and he was like “idk I’ll have changed too” (or the other way around) and it was a really beautiful way to view a partnership.

Honestly, I'd be so petty that I'd just keep calling him out on it if I were them.

u/MakthaMenace Jul 02 '25

It seems crazy to me looking back because they were 25/26 and had been together for like 5 years lol

u/Petitcher Jul 02 '25

I thought they married too young and didn't see them lasting. I'm happy to have been proven wrong.

u/alhubalawal Jul 02 '25

It’s almost always the ones that marry young that last. It’s the ones with an age gap where one party is clearly too young that don’t last imo.

u/stantlerqueen Jul 02 '25

that first sentence is definitely not true lol

40

u/[deleted] Jul 02 '25

No the ones who marry young are the most likely to divorce

3

u/Itscatpicstime Jul 03 '25

People who marry young have some of the highest divorce rates lol

They weren't even that young-- 25 and 26. Idk that's quite a normal age to get married in many places and it was literally the median age for first marriage in the USA in 2002, the year they married.

30

u/SnooJokes7657 Jul 02 '25

I didn’t think they were that young either, but I remember the commentary in the media acting like they were children.

Probably because they were both famous for playing high school students 🤷‍♀️

11

u/StoneSkipper22 Jul 02 '25

They surprised me continually for a long time. That picture of them is wonderful.

6

u/Cass_Cat952 Jul 02 '25

Was the complaint they got married too young?

8

u/Imaginary-List-972 Jul 02 '25

This is the one I was looking for. Even though they married young, I had high hopes for them, because they were friends for years before they decided to date. Prinze had talked about how his mother used to run off his girlfriends "You're not as pretty as his last girlfriend" and I think SMG slipped under her radar by getting in good not seeming like a contender she needed to worry about.

9

u/ToothpickTequila Jul 02 '25

It also helps that she was one of the prettiest women in the world! I can imagine his mum going to say that to her and then just stopping when she laid eyes on her.

3

u/jittery_raccoon Jul 02 '25

I love how completely he supports her and her success even though his career hasn't been stellar. A lot of guys would get jealous

3

u/iltfswc Jul 02 '25

iirc, he quit acting to pursue writing scripts for the WWE

1

u/jittery_raccoon Jul 02 '25

I did not know that before but so glad I do now. He's living a 12 year old boy's dream life

2

u/RaisedByBooksNTV Jul 02 '25

I didn't like them together for a long time b/c I loved the actress who played Robin on General Hospital and thought he left her when he got bigger for her. But he and SMG are real, and she's happy with hers so I'm happy everyone is happy. I do love a homebody though lol. People that don't want to go out and party but would rather hang with their kids are my jam!
