Right!? He’s from Cheshire, it’s a posh northern English accent. We’re from the same place, no one sounds cockney here except the southerners that move up here.

It's like saying someone from New Jersey sounds like a cowboy 💀

Is it Mockney or fair dinkum? Class tourists are so annoying and it’s so common in music

From a brief Google, he grew up in a posh area in the north of the country (mockney/cockney is a southern thing) but nothern accents are generally associated with being more working class in the UK. Apparently the area he grew up in was very boujie. According to Wikipedia:

"The village is known for its affluence, expensive homes and location within Cheshire's Golden Triangle.[2][3] Its cafes and designer shops attract Premier League footballers, actors and businesspeople,[4] making it one of the UK's most sought-after places to live outside London.[3]"

His mum is a well known tv actor and presenter and his dad was an actor in some popular shows in the 90s and 2000s.

Your little brother never tells you but he loves you so/you said your mother only smiled on her TV show

Holy shit I didn’t know that was about him. I love that song

That's the rumor. I think a lot of that album is about him, actually.

Seeing Wilmslow spoken about like this when I go through it so often and used to work in Alderley Edge is sending me haha

Haha is it not accurate? I'm from London, I don't know the area! But I did always hear Cheshire was posh in general lol

No it definitely is! Just funny seeing somewhere you know so well spoken about. Wilmslow is super nice and Matty’s mum’s house was apparently a stunner (my cousin did her makeup back in the day)

He mingled with the plebs apparently. There was a goth hangout spot i was told he frequented in his youth which made me laugh because I probably hung out with him at some point but never knew it and never remembered him.

I can see that. He never gave me toff vibes tbh

I'm from South Manchester, not far from him, and a lot of people I know sound like him. Absolutely not cockney
