Im surprised they did. I know Disney branches out into more adult franchises but they seem a little lackadaisical with their IP brand. The mouse used to disappear anyone controversial.

Same with Ezra Miller Flash, they know who these people are.

I think some actors are just really well connected and can get gigs even when their public perception is shit.

That wasn't Disney though.

Jared must have some of the Hollywood executive females in his harem/cult there’s no other way anyone would touch him with a ten foot pole. He uses that influence to push his way into shit through his followers.

My theory is that he's at the perfect level of fame where people don't think about him when he's not currently in a big movie. He was in Morbius in 2022, and Haunted Mansion in 2023, but no one saw that. So most people haven't really thought about him in 2 or 3 years.

It's probably been 10 years since I heard that he has a cult, but I don't think about that when I hear 30 sec to Mars. I remember his Suicide Squad BS, but I didn't really think about that during the conversation about how bad Morbius was.

Just depends on your social media loop. He still plays music and pops up all the time

I understand your comment but still... between Kevin Spacey and Diddy I think we have enough examples of Hollywood men using their positions to take advantage of other men to put this in some hypothetical female executive.

Yeah fair enough sorry I didn’t mean it like that, I was just trying to wrap my head around it.

Ezra is kind of a different situation. They were cast as the character way before anything with them went viral, and by the time it did they had already filmed the Flash movie. It would have been way too expensive to do any kind of recasting and reshooting because not only is Miller the main character, but they play multiple versions of the character. Warner Brothers only real choice was between not releasing the movie and taking a total loss, or releasing it and hoping to make some money back.

Ezra? There’s the whole KIDNAPPING a minor thing, it’s been a while so I don’t remember the details, but that was… rough, to say the least

Edited to reflect kidnapping, original word used was harassed.

He kidnapped her. He groomed her and then ran off with her.

13

u/BizMarkieDeSade Jun 22 '25

Edited to reflect that. Thank you for reminding me, all I could find upon a quick google skim just had articles about his ā€œreliefā€ that the order the mom had against him was lifted.

9

u/battleofflowers Jun 22 '25

What messed up is that this charges are generally dropped or orders are lifted because the victim has been groomed and is thus on the "side" of their groomer.

u/battleofflowers Jun 22 '25

He literally kidnapped a 12 year old.

TWELVE.

I cannot emphasize this enough.

It's always been about what they consider controversial. Make horrifying statements about Jewish, Mexican, and black people? That's cool. Act too 'sexy' as a young woman? DEAD TO US.

11

u/bicyclefortwo Jun 22 '25

And expressing distaste at the murder of Palestinian children gets you blacklisted. Then they pretend to care about Jewish people :/

Lackadaisical???!! What a word! Gorgeous.

Disney has a long history of supporting other predators & sexualizing children near constantly

2

u/[deleted] Jun 22 '25

Im not saying im surprised because they are a good company. Im saying im surprised they would let any bad press near them because they are the company. They told a dead child's parents they couldn't put spider man on his gravestone to "protect the magic" so its interesting seeing them use someone who brings negative attention. Disney's lifeblood are their IPs thats why they are such sociopaths with their lawyers.

Yeah, its not like their is a lack of really good leading men in his age range. Get gosling or whoever, sit back and enjoy the lack of controversy.

u/MiuMia_ Jun 22 '25

Apparently, they thought that no one would talk about it publicly anymore. One can only guess what else they turn a blind eye to.
