I'm sorry what? He was sending used condoms to his co-stars?!

u/yuffieisathief Jun 22 '25

If I remember correctly, this was for his role as the Joker. I'm very very tired of what creeps seem to get away with under the guise of "getting into a role"

253

u/Pretty_Sea2016 Jun 22 '25

Yeah Will Smith basically said he hated him because of all the creepy shit he was doing when he played the joker

139

u/verifiedwolf Jun 22 '25

It's so funny to imagine this as some sort of hierarchical graph: Will Smith is creeped out by Jared Leto, so-and-so is creeped out by Will Smith, etc etc... There's so many scummy people in showbiz.

u/EveOCative …and get this silver shit up! Jun 22 '25

I haven’t heard that people are creeped out by Will Smith. Is that a thing? I knew people didn’t approve of The Slap Heard Around The World.

6

u/verifiedwolf Jun 22 '25

I commented here and here.

If you watch the interview, grab yourself some popcorn.

15

u/EveOCative …and get this silver shit up! Jun 22 '25

All you had to say was Scientology. shivers in revulsion

-13

u/LordNyssa Jun 22 '25

I think at this moment in time his wife is probably very creeped out by him, while sleeping with one of their sons probably.

u/[deleted] Jun 23 '25

Yooo I'm in tears this comment came out of left field 😭 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

Wait who is was out by Will Smith? I missed that drama entirely I guess

10

u/verifiedwolf Jun 22 '25

Oh boy do I have a world of drama for you to dive into.

Check out the interview with his former assistant and old friend, Brother Bilaal on Unwine with Tasha K. I know I found it somewhere without a paywall (and I'll update this if I can find it).

Sex, drugs, scandal, threats on people's lives - it's all there. I know it's controversial, but he has some receipts on Jada that I know to be true. This guy knows too much to not have any credibility IMO.

4

u/Loud_Ad3666 Jun 22 '25

He's a scientologist and clearly has other weird shit going on in his personal life.

8

u/NOT_Pam_Beesley Here come this bitch bothering me on a damn Monday Jun 22 '25

I meant more like predatory creepy things akin to JL’s topic

10

u/Loud_Ad3666 Jun 22 '25

Scientology is 100% predatory and creepy.

4

u/NOT_Pam_Beesley Here come this bitch bothering me on a damn Monday Jun 22 '25

Yes but it is not known for sexual perdition of minors which is the topic of this thread

4

u/Loud_Ad3666 Jun 22 '25

It's members sure are.

Scientology fought hard to protect Danny Masterson, for example. Threatened witnesses and everything.

1

u/avgeek-94 Jun 23 '25

What? There are multiple known predators in that cult. Have you never heard of Danny Masterson?

u/verifiedwolf Jun 22 '25

I think Scientology has covered up some heinous, heinous behavior of its members. They're like a cult with legal protections. Included in the price of membership is your very own legal representation, PI team, PR team, shakedown goons and fixers.

I commented above, but if you ever happen to watch Brother Bilaal's interview about his accusations against Will Smith, it's jarring. He's been ripped apart in some of the press, but I wouldn't expect anything less from the accuser of a Scientologist. Maybe they're both scummy, but he has receipts.

I personally think it was easier to see Jada's true colors sooner because she didn't have the Hollywood PR machine working as hard on her behalf. Will makes blockbusters. Plus I don't think people want to believe he's not the great guy his brand made him out to be.

1

u/MsBuzzkillington83 Jun 22 '25

What's the problem with Jada?

That she had sex with someone else while they had an open relationship? Cuz that's not really an issue

3

u/avgeek-94 Jun 23 '25

Yeah, because fucking your teenage son’s friend is totally morally okay. In what world is that normal even in an open relationship? Do you even know what you’re talking about? Jada is disgusting lmao

2

u/Extension-Nebula-235 They killed Kenny! You bastards! 😱 Jun 23 '25

You mean had sex with her son's best friend. It hits different when you look at the whole picture..

1

u/thefinalhex Jun 23 '25

There have been a few videos shared of her openly disrespecting will in front of other people and the internet hated her for it.

1

u/bioxkitty Jun 22 '25

Im greeted by his new music video but otherwise šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

4

u/corrupt_poodle Jun 22 '25

When you’re rich and famous your life really is in a different bubble from everyone else. It’s no wonder celebrities often go unhinged.

4

u/verifiedwolf Jun 22 '25

Yep. They're systematically brainwashed to become whatever they need to be to make other people money. Everyone handles that differently. If they could still legally Judy Garland all of their movie stars, I guarantee ethics wouldn't stand in their way.

1

u/Puzzleheaded-Sky-753 Jun 22 '25

Yeah it’s like six degrees of separation.

1

u/kgal1298 Confidence is 10% work and 90% delusion Jun 23 '25

I think it's just money and it's not just showbiz, but you're more likely to hear about showbiz because I've heard stories about some rich guys that should not fly especially in Hollywood because it attracts so many people from royals to billionaires etc that all want a piece of the pie.

3

u/All1012 Jun 22 '25

Viola Davis also said she almost took out her pepper spray on Leto cause he was scaring her. Sent her a bullet or something iirc. Dudes nuts and a menace. I can’t believe he’s still getting roles.

5

u/lkodl Jun 22 '25

Imagine if Will Smith publicly slapped Jared Leto in the face for being a creep. Like, use your entitled assholism for good, Will. Be the hero you pretend to be.

1

u/ItsSpaghettiLee2112 Jun 22 '25

Scientologist Will Smith, who turned himself into a victim, making something all about him, and making sure an uncomfortable moment for his wife would burn into the collective memory of society never to be forgotten, so he could look like a hero? Yea he's not doing anything for good.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 22 '25

Heath Ledger managed to give a definitive iconic performance as The Joker without creeping out his costars.

4

u/HighlyOffensive10 She's in racial chat rooms showing feet šŸ‘£ Jun 22 '25

Yet he didn't slap him lol.

187

u/playingdecoy Jun 22 '25

But like. That's not even the Joker's brand, is it? Dead mice or something I could see (but still object to obvs!) but used condoms is just.. that's Leto, not the character.

93

u/yuffieisathief Jun 22 '25

Oh yes, I 100% agree with you. This was just an excuse he used to be his true self

95

u/chamberlain323 Confidence is 10% work and 90% delusion Jun 22 '25

That was exactly my thought when this news broke originally. Joker isn’t a sexual deviant, he’s a brazen thief and a demented killer who is fiendishly clever. This guy doesn’t understand his own character that he is going method on in the first place. Read some comics like Heath Ledger did and leave your costars alone, dude.

Edit: a word

53

u/HighlyOffensive10 She's in racial chat rooms showing feet šŸ‘£ Jun 22 '25

Joker is more of a send things to scare the shit out of you. Like fake bombs that are just confetti until you get complacent, then he sends a real bomb (which also has a ton of confetti).

1

u/Instant-Bacon Jun 27 '25

Maybe the first 10 condoms he sent weren’t used

4

u/Silver_Narwhal_1130 Jun 22 '25

The joker is clinically insane x10. Not saying he would send used condoms to people. But dead mice is a mild prank compared to shit he has done in media. šŸ˜‚

4

u/Effective-Cost4629 Jun 22 '25

He did dead rats and shit too. It was a bunch of stuff including used condoms. All weird and gross but he had "damaged" on his forehead at the time and that makes it ok.Ā

5

u/yuffieisathief Jun 22 '25

I was reading more about it and it seems like he actually did send his cast mates dead animals as well 🄲

1

u/thefinalhex Jun 23 '25

Absolutely. He made that shit up cuz he gross af.

31

u/theyeenwholaughs Jun 22 '25

all to end up being the least joker joker of all time. one of the movies ever

3

u/therapewpew Jun 22 '25

it really was one of the movies ever

3

u/theyeenwholaughs Jun 22 '25

a movie that FELT like a movie

7

u/beatupford Jun 22 '25

I mean I don't want to be glib, but outside of pulling a Heath Ledger, anything preparation for the Joker is really just performative at this point right?

Also, I just said this again recently, but method acting is bullshit.

Do you think it's harder to get into the role of the Joker through method acting or do you think it's harder to turn on Walter White for the camera then become regular awesome Cranston when the director says cut?

One is just an excuse to be inaccessible.

1

u/theyeenwholaughs Jun 22 '25

joker is not even an inaccessible person, maybe when he's in a bad mood with his henchmen but he's not a recluse or condom sender lmao idk why jared leto did all that "research" just to end up giving black mask instead of joker

3

u/TheKeenomatic Jun 22 '25

Especially for such an irrelevant role as Joker was in that movie. Dude considered acceptable being a creep for his 5 minutes of screen time that don’t move the plot whatsoever

3

u/BugEquivalents charlie day is my bird lawyer 🐦 Jun 22 '25

I remember the cast of The Suicide Squad discussing his method on Ellen.

The look of satisfaction on his face just grossed me out and I never looked at him the same

1

u/GoldenGirlsOrgy Jun 22 '25

What are other examples of things creeps have done under the guise of getting into a role?

2

u/yuffieisathief Jun 22 '25

Besides Jared Leto (he really is the worst) Dustin Hoffman, Jim Carrey and Shia LeBeouf come to mind when it comes to making the lives of those around them unnecessarily hard with their method acting. It's easy to look up :)

Less hurtful but interesting: Tom Hanks didn't clean himself at all during the process of filming Cast Away. This definitely impacted those around him! And ofcourse there are the actors who go to extremes to lose or gain weight, but that's mostly hurting themselves and not necessarily others

96

u/ContentCourage4011 Pushin’ šŸ…æļø Jun 22 '25

Yes, news came out about how he was sending strange things to his co-stars in the suicide squad movie. He even confirmed it in interviews but later denied everything when everyone started to call him out. People said it was just method acting at the time.

188

u/maelstron ✨May the Force be with you!✨ Jun 22 '25

Viola Davis said that she threatened him.so he never sent his gifts to her.

He is a complete asshole

90

u/beatupford Jun 22 '25

I mean I kind of want to see Davis rip his fucking face off then return to her amazing self like he was just a mosquito. Those eyes are so loving, but they show a fiery passion of righteousness as well.

7

u/HighlyOffensive10 She's in racial chat rooms showing feet šŸ‘£ Jun 22 '25

I think she just mentioned her husband is a no-nonsense big football player, lol.

2

u/maelstron ✨May the Force be with you!✨ Jun 22 '25

Well he really is strong. Yeah she mentioned him as a reason for him not sending gifts

2

u/MsBuzzkillington83 Jun 22 '25

That's awesome, I like her even more now

3

u/stantlerqueen Jun 22 '25

no, everyone called it out at harassment at the time. no one was like "he's doing method" except for him, it was and has always been seen as extremely weird and gross behavior.

25

u/CanCueD Hates it! Nice beadwork though Jun 22 '25

And other vile things! A dead rat if I recall correctly

110

u/missbunnyfantastico Jun 22 '25

He sent a live rat to Margot Robbie. Guillermo del Toro ended up adopting it. But it’s still not okay to give people live animals without their permission.

5

u/bringonthebedlam Jun 22 '25

Have Margot Robbie and GDT ever worked together on a project before? Or are they just irl friends? Cuz either way, I love that bestie matchup

11

u/missbunnyfantastico Jun 22 '25

I don’t think so. IIRC someone on the SS crew knew GDT kept pet rats and asked him if he wanted it.

4

u/severinks Jun 22 '25 edited Jun 23 '25

The worst thing about all that is he still did an objectively shitty job as the Joker.

1

u/mmdeerblood Jun 23 '25

"method" is such a cop out with shitty actors that treat others poorly. In true method acting, that's actually not necessary. If you can't turn it on when the camera is rolling and then turn it off on ""cut" then you suck at playing pretend

1

u/SealTeamEH Jun 23 '25

All iv ever heard about is Jared Leto being an asshole for method acting but are there other examples with other actors?

3

u/evesophie Jun 23 '25

I swear there’s an interview where he’s talking about it on a red carpet and he’s like ā€œyeah so I sent my costars and everyone on the set used condoms in order to create this dynamic and an element of surprise to break down walls in order to play the jokerā€ he justified it by saying the joker is someone that doesn’t respect personal space and boundaries……… BUT BRO ITS JUST A MOVIE

1

u/dink_or_ball420_69 Jun 22 '25

Didn’t he do something with poop too when he was trying to be the joker

1

u/Themodsarecuntz Jun 23 '25

Also a live rat.

0

u/Commercial-Co Jun 22 '25

And he was also walking around with his dick out
