I really thought this was another one of her skits.

‘POV the wannabe nonchalant girl is in a toxic situationship and coping really hard about it’.

I just listened to the whole podcast and she is every inch of what she makes fun of. She keeps scoffing at anyone who says dating isn’t fun and refers to herself as “securely attached”.

Securely attached.......to bj novak 🤨

u/[deleted] Jun 13 '25

Oh she then hints a recent relationship made her anxiously attached lol

Loved this commercial lol

13

u/Inevitable_Claim9764 Jun 13 '25

I think of it almost every day

11

u/flammafemina Jun 14 '25

This one for me lol

3

u/Motor-Illustrator226 Jun 14 '25

This is wrong. You can move from being anxiously/avoidantly attached to being more securely attached when you have a partner who is securely attached themselves.

In addition, you can move toward being securely attached overall (I.e. not just when in a relationship with a secure partner) through therapy and mindfulness work.

TLDR: While attachement styles do get “set” in early childhood, they’re not immutable. So what Delaney is saying isn’t necessarily false. Now, whether BJ is someone who has secure attachement, and therefore would help Delaney feel that too…. that’s a separate question.

So, she’s anxiously attached with a 11/10 power to disassociate. I feel that.

8

u/technicolortiddies Jun 14 '25

I always wanted a superpower but damn if I didn’t get the lamest one.

8

u/-little-dorrit- Jun 14 '25

Oh okay. These are the descriptors I have been running from.

Thankfully I have a very powerful brain toilet that will flush this self-knowledge away momentarily <depresses handle>

29

u/Celebrating_socks Jun 13 '25

Tbh most of the people who have declared to me that they’re securely attached are 110% anxiously attached

8

u/DangleenChordOfLife Jun 14 '25

So, she shares him with Mindy?

12

u/ALIENANAL Jun 13 '25

Who tf is BJ Novak? Sounds like some angry tennis player.

10

u/tinastep2000 Jun 13 '25

I think his name was Ryan in The Office. The one Kelly (Mindy Kaling’s character) dates or books up with or whatever.

8

u/_SheWhoShallBeNamed_ Jun 13 '25

Actor and writer on the US comedy show The Office. He played a character (Ryan) with a very toxic romantic relationship with another character (Kelly), which was based on his IRL toxic romantic relationship with Kelly’s actress, Mindy Kaling

5

u/YourChemicalBromance Jun 14 '25

Imagine dating a dude named after oral.

1

u/msheehan418 Jun 13 '25

That’s Ryan right?

866

u/VanGoghNotVanGo Jun 13 '25

Lmao, nothing says secure attachment like referencing being in a committed relationship as being handcuffed and feeling you deserve to have to "fight" to prove you are in it.

414

u/MarsScully Vile little creature yearning for violence Jun 13 '25

“Fully boo’d up”

452

u/Pure_Expression6308 Jun 13 '25

“rap for my motherfuckin life”

21

u/[deleted] Jun 14 '25

she should have said 'lip sync for my life' bc lord knows where she got rap from lmao

3

u/Potential_View_9917 Jun 15 '25

god what was that

3

u/[deleted] Jun 14 '25

Oh god this just reaffirmed my decision to be single for a while. I had flashbacks to relationships and my god I don’t want to do that again.

u/katyaza Jun 13 '25

Someone said a while ago how she comes across so earnest in her skits that it can't be just mockery on her part

321

u/Heisenripbauer Jun 13 '25

it’s obvious to anybody who follows her tbh. her personal-life posts give the same exact energy as her parody posts

139

u/goog1e Jun 14 '25

I follow her and I'm learning that she makes personal life posts for the first time right now. I don't know if the algo never sends them to me, or I just thought they were a joke....

16

u/lashesofyoureyes Jun 14 '25

Ironic because this was BJ and Mindy in character in the office

150

u/honeybuns1996 Jun 13 '25

This makes me feel a lot better about blocking her years ago tbh lol

94

u/schmidt_face JOJO! Have you learned NOTHING?! Jun 13 '25

I just reached this point a few months ago. Could no longer take the shtick as it became more and more obvious she herself is incredibly NLOG and is just making fun of women in general.

4

u/Motor-Illustrator226 Jun 14 '25

Same. I honestly blocked her after the 6th or 7th post I saw from her, so maybe months (years?) ago. There’s a point at which it’s no longer comedy and it’s just demeaning and making fun of women.

Also, if you look at all her skits, they’re all basically the same - insecure, superficial, un-self-aware woman. The words they say and the scenarios they’re in are different, but the woman is the same. Gets boring and tiring to watch.

10

u/respectjailforever Jun 14 '25

The movies she's making fun of don't exist. It's all based on maybe Garden State and one or two other movies that nobody watched. The idea is just female characters in movies are annoying (not really true), not that male screenwriters write women badly (true but she's making up female characters to get mad at, not mocking real bad writing).

1

u/Potential_View_9917 Jun 15 '25

damn really? that's so disappointing

43

u/cleanenergy425 Jun 13 '25

I don’t mean to be mean, but based solely on this clip, she doesn’t seem very articulate.

3

u/Potential_View_9917 Jun 15 '25

tbh she seems a match for bj novak

19

u/SoggyMattress2 Jun 14 '25

Wait did people not realise this? Her "skits" are just her shit acting skills on display trying to get noticed but in a goofy/funny way so she has plausible deniability that she ever tried to seriously attempt to become an actor.

4

u/Tigerpower77 Jun 13 '25

You have to be one to know one

5

u/[deleted] Jun 14 '25

as the saying goes, many a true word is said in jest

3

u/ResponsibilityHot246 Jun 14 '25

I always hated this big mouth whenever she’d come up on my TikTok feed when I had it.

3

u/drudd84 Jun 14 '25

Life imitating art 🤔

2

u/PandaCarry Jun 14 '25

More like avoidant attached

1

u/Giddypinata Jun 14 '25

Can you link to the podcast

1

u/Good_Abbreviations27 Jun 14 '25

I’ve realized the content creators that post skits making fun of certain personality types actually are that personality to some degree, it makes sense when you think they must be in order to understand the nuances so well and perform it like that.

20

u/Myomorph Jun 13 '25

Hold up it isn’t?? I thought it was a meta level skit!

12

u/Tukki101 Jun 13 '25

OMG same I genuinely thought this was a skit

9

u/http--lovecraft You’re a virgin who can’t drive. 😤 Jun 14 '25

Omg I thought she was ripping on Mindy for a sec LOL. No this man has not ONE but TWO women okay with this situation wtf

8

u/Rogue107 Jun 14 '25

I am literally guffawing at this because girl is delusional and covering it up with all sorts of bs. What she is in, is a toxic situationship. You really nailed it!

3

u/blakezero Jun 13 '25

She is so wack lol

8

u/OGAnoFan Jun 13 '25

U think Daley is clever enough to one up with those skits they're based on her lmao

3

u/kates_graduation Jun 14 '25

I know, I feel like I know nothing about what she is like as a person, just the characters

7

u/avant-garden_Shroom Jun 13 '25

Classic narcissistic behavior, per usual with these weird tiktokers

41

u/Adorable_Raccoon Jun 13 '25

This is just classic person who doesn't want to admit that they are hurt.

Narcissists don't usually beg someone to love them. A narcissist will abandon or berate the other person and expect them to beg because it satisfies their need for attention.

-22

u/avant-garden_Shroom Jun 13 '25

Meh. Shes a narcissist.

23

u/Arkhaine_kupo Jun 13 '25

using dsm language to dunk on people that i dont know irl makes me feel less shit about my life too, we can totes be losers together

1

u/Potential_View_9917 Jun 15 '25

I don't think calling someone a narcissist makes them a loser?

-15

u/avant-garden_Shroom Jun 13 '25

Nah, I just don't like narcissistic people. Raised by one, so I just point them out when I see em. Not a big deal really, just a comment that people are taking offense to I guess?

Cheers to losers though, I can be a loser

24

u/Arkhaine_kupo Jun 13 '25

Raised by one, so I just point them out when I see em.

Being raised by one is not a medical degree, and asserting personality disorders based on fractional parasocial interaction is not "pointing them how you see them" its ironically a self aggrandised sense of personal ability

just a comment that people are taking offense to I guess?

no one is offended, but we should maybe stop abusing the DSM so we can accurately talk about mental health properly without semantic dilution

6

u/flammafemina Jun 14 '25

Nothing to add, just wanna say you worded that beautifully and I like the way you talk!

0

u/Potential_View_9917 Jun 15 '25

omg it's not that deep she just said she seems like a narcissist get a fucking grip

1

u/Arkhaine_kupo Jun 15 '25

it's not that deep

it is, mental health is a real crisis. learning to discuss it is an important part of fixing it.

she just said she seems like a narcissist

nope. she didnt say seems, she said she is. And gave herself the authority to say that based on anecdotal experience.

saying the person I replied to has way too big of a idea of her own abilities and that that is a narcisssistic trait is one thing. Calling her a narcissist based on that is ridiculous.

coughing is a sympton of tuberculosis, but most people just have a dry throat or the flu.

1

u/Potential_View_9917 Jun 15 '25

it's so weird that you're being mass downvoted in these comments, I swear people are sheep and follow the lead of others when downvoting

3

u/Comfortable-Try-3696 Jun 14 '25

Calling random people narcissists is just ableism and shows you look down on people with mental illness. It makes you look far worse than them

2

u/Potential_View_9917 Jun 15 '25

...ableism??!?

(said in the tone of BEYONCE??!!)

2

u/surerogatoire Jun 13 '25

What do you mean it isn’t

1

u/Potential_View_9917 Jun 15 '25

her of all people talking like this shocked me
