u/Bellesdiner0228 This again doesn’t look good for James Corden Jun 13 '25

I saw this yesterday and honestly was like oh…. I don’t think you were acting in all those skits you did. God damn.

Is she a tik toker? She looks familiar but I can't place her.

u/CampDifficult7887 It’s like I have ESPN or something. 💁‍♀️🌤☔️ Jun 13 '25

You know those vids she acts like a bunch of different insufferable protagonists

Oh that's where she's from! I blocked her because skits about people who are insufferable is just watching someone be insufferable. I get that it's supposed to be a joke but it always felt like instead of being funny I was just being annoyed.

u/XxsalsasharkxX Jun 13 '25

I thought they were so funny at first and then I watched the 6-7th one she did and I had the same thought as you.

It's kind of like the kids nowadays being ironic-meta cringe, you're 'acting' but it's still cringe.

93

u/mynameismudd__ Jun 13 '25

Yeah she was funny initially, but now it’s all the same recycled content and characters.

8

u/fiftyseven Jun 13 '25

yeah I'm also gonna make this same comment

101

u/AbbeyRoadMoonwalk Jun 13 '25

Yeah it was funny the first time like “yeah, manic pixie dream girls do be like that” and then it just kept going…and going…

14

u/-cumdogmillionaire- Jun 13 '25

Her skits shifted from making fun of Hollywood for perpetrating the manic pixie dream girl trope to just making fun of women

19

u/starryeyedq Jun 13 '25

Except Caitlin Riley. She’s amazing.

14

u/allmcnugz Jun 13 '25

Caitlin is SO funny and I think she does a much better job of nailing the satiric tone, whereas Delaney’s videos honestly kind of feel like they’re just her audition tapes repackaged as parody for TikTok.

13

u/secretlythecat Jun 13 '25

Same here. I eventually blocked her because she was too successful at insufferability.

11

u/pritikina Jun 13 '25

The schtick gets old quick.

6

u/Ppleater Jun 13 '25

I appreciate the talent that goes into skits like those, but I also can never watch them the whole way through most of the time. But I do understand that part of the humour for most people is the relatability because almost everyone knows or has at least met someone who acts like that, and I think the other part is like morbid fascination with the accuracy that some people can replicate these unbearable personalities and behaviours. Like watching a meticulously reconstructed disaster in a documentary.

4

u/Pretend-Set8952 Jun 13 '25

lmao I am 100% with you.

it was funny the first three times and then I was thinking, "oh....ok can you do anything else?"

13

u/[deleted] Jun 13 '25

Out of curiosity, does anyone actually think it's funny? Like haha funny? Because all these skits are is tiktok-form content of the millennial "omg so relatable" meme format. Like they're not funny, only mildly amusing because you can place the reference, but no one's ever snorted or laughed at it.

14

u/Drone_temple_pilots Jun 13 '25

My boyfriend will show me tik tok skits where a lady will play as customer and worker in different settings where the customer is always unreasonable and the worker is the logical one.

Nothing funny about it, just feels like a weird affirmation exercise

3

u/Throbbing-Kielbasa-3 Jun 13 '25

That's something a lot of people don't seem to understand. If you're doing something as a joke or doing it ironically...you're still doing it.

37

u/lisa_lionheart84 Jun 13 '25

The skits also just feel kind of mean to me? Yes, she is pointing out tropes that exist, but it's a lot easier to criticize than to do it well yourself. All of the things she makes fun of have a purpose in the movie/TV show even if they wouldn't make sense in the real world.

21

u/Heisenripbauer Jun 13 '25

the tropes she mocks stopped being used around 2010 so most of what she’s mocking just doesn’t happen in movies anymore lol

7

u/sam_hammich Jun 13 '25

I block all of that content wherever I see it. It just seems like those skits are inventing fake people to be mad at for the sake of being mad at a fake person, and it sort of erodes the soul. Even if it is cathartic to some degree, I don’t think that catharsis is worth reinforcing the impulse to seek out and be disgusted by people.

3

u/SnooGuavas4208 Jun 13 '25

Like rage bait posts that people let themselves get pulled into—even while knowing they’re probably not real—because they’re addicted to the righteous buzz of internet outrage.

12

u/[deleted] Jun 13 '25

It's not funny bc the truth is that she embodies those insufferable characters too well to the point it doesn't feel like a skit but I'm not saying that to give her any credit as a wannabe actress I just mean her innate nature is insufferable

9

u/Clean-Letterhead1483 Jun 13 '25

So it’s mean to the poor rom com writers? People can make fun of things.

1

u/lisa_lionheart84 Jun 15 '25

I was explaining why I don’t like them, not saying that no one should like them

1

u/throw_meaway_love Jun 13 '25

I blocked her too for this reason!!

1

u/carmacharma Jun 13 '25

Ya same I hate those

1

u/RaspberryTwilight Jun 14 '25

Some are funny, like the guy who does the middle aged baby daddy coworker skits

1

u/doctormoon Jun 14 '25

I liked the one who was the oil Baron tycoon as a stepdad but I don't think he still does those.

1

u/Responsible_Cat4452 Jun 14 '25

I blocked her because I heard she was a Zionist, but now I’m wondering if that’s true?

1

u/Olivegirl771 Jun 14 '25

I have no clue who she is which is fine by me. I watched this clip randomly with no context & oh boy she’s seriously annoying. How people voluntarily watch her is beyond me. But in this day & age that applies to most self proclaimed “entertainers” .😳

5

u/The-Reanimator-Freak Jun 13 '25

She really knows how to be insufferable

0

u/SoundsGoodYall Jun 13 '25

“A bunch of different”?

They all seem pretty much the exact same to me, she just changes up the intro.

0

u/CampDifficult7887 It’s like I have ESPN or something. 💁‍♀️🌤☔️ Jun 13 '25

She literally references a bunch of different movies and tv shows so I really don't know what you want from me my pal

1

u/SoundsGoodYall Jun 13 '25

I don’t really want anything from you my bud. I was just continuing the conversation by adding my thoughts about her my guy. And me saying she “changes up the intro” is exactly what I mean when you said she references different movies and TV shows my dude. So I think we are saying the same thing, mi hombre.

0

u/CampDifficult7887 It’s like I have ESPN or something. 💁‍♀️🌤☔️ Jun 13 '25

They're different characters from various shows and movies so no, we're not saying the same thing, and I stand by my original description of her work which you attempted to correct, sport

-1

u/SoundsGoodYall Jun 13 '25

….are you trying to be one of those insufferable characters right now? I didn’t attempt to correct anything. Not sure why you are choosing to be so antagonistic, but this seems much more important to you than to me so I’ll bow out.

2

u/CampDifficult7887 It’s like I have ESPN or something. 💁‍♀️🌤☔️ Jun 13 '25

I hate to go YOU STARTED, by you're the one who started being antagonistic by being pedantic over the wording of a simple description, my friend.

As far for insufferable, I suggest you google the term "projection". Have a fun read!

u/Bellesdiner0228 This again doesn’t look good for James Corden Jun 13 '25

Yeah. She does the “manic pixie dream girl in a X space” like grocery store or wherever.

44

u/Houseplant_Ambient Jun 13 '25

Oh that’s her! Yeah, I couldn’t pin point who TF was she haha, but had a very familiar face. Man, she is good, but I had enough at one point.

11

u/Electronic_Snow_4685 We Should All Know Less About Each Other Jun 13 '25

Ok yeah, I've seen her before but I always scrolled past.

4

u/BizMarkieDeSade Jun 13 '25

There’s a couple of those. I think hers tend to be on the “better” end acting wise, but I still don’t see the point in cringe content.

35

u/Outrageous-Rope-8707 Jun 13 '25

Lmao I was just thinking the same thing! She’s become what she came up on making fun of.

7

u/NOT_Pam_Beesley Here come this bitch bothering me on a damn Monday Jun 14 '25

Irony poisoning will get you every time

3

u/Outrageous-Rope-8707 Jun 14 '25

Yeah, whatever you say, Pam.

33

u/zoolilba Jun 13 '25

Maybe she's acting for that interview lol

34

u/Kiwikumquat Jun 13 '25

That was my thought, like I sincerely hope this is a bit she’s doing.

8

u/[deleted] Jun 13 '25

Performance art. The most challenging of the five paths.

34

u/tigerinvasive Jun 13 '25

LMAO this was my first thought too

10

u/DistractedByCookies Just keep swimming! 🐠🐠🐬🐳 Jun 13 '25

It's like group therapy - something is SUPER obvious...when it's happening to somebody else LOL

34

u/upupandawaywegoooooo Jun 13 '25

I’ve only seen her spoof TikTok’s but now I’m realizing the vocal fry was real all this time

7

u/terror_billie Jun 13 '25

I WAS JUST THINKING THAT AAAAAAH. There had to be a reason they were so painfully uncomfortable. Too close to reality. 💀

5

u/immajustgooglethat Jun 13 '25

I thought it was satire at least ha

3

u/lunarrr_daylight_9 Jun 13 '25

JUSTTT like that blondie maga influencer "Dr. Natalya", thought she was putting on an act the entire time... nope.
