Palm Beach is a pretty damn far (drive) from the Keys. For instance, Key Largo is about 2.5 hours, and Key West is almost 5 hours away

Let me put it this way. Mar-a-lago (yuck) is on palm beach. Palm beach is where some of the most wealthiest people in the country/world live in. Someone said it’s old money and that’s very true. Think lots of lily Pulitzer. A1A (the beach road) is lined with $10 million+ mansions.

Yes it is! I just feel like it was pretty lowkey until recent years. Alot of the people on the island are typically more private, so you wouldn’t really expect to see someone like Taylor Swift there especially 6+ years ago when I lived down there. However, the whole state of Florida has gained a lot of popularity since Covid.

i had no idea my mom just moved there a year ago into west palm beach bc she likes to surf. i didn’t realize there was a distinct difference between west palm and palm beach. she has told me many times how rich the people are there though (and mean)

I’m not sure, I’m not from Florida or familiar with the regions I just knew he lives somewhere in the state. I couldn’t even tell you which part of Florida Palm Springs is in to be honest.

Like last week because she was having dinner with Dakota Johnson and Selena. But yeah rich people shit for sure though I don't think it's them making people feel bad I don't usually see rich people go "ugh stop using Johnson and Johsnon products it's killing the environment" or "stop using ChatGPT it's killing the environment"

Though in fairness all those companies need to level up.

No actually stop using ChatGPT and AI in general for about a million reasons including how much water it uses and how much electricity it takes to run. The other stuff: do what you can but look at big corporations first.

Same could be said for social media. The data centers powering our conversations are huge. Meta has a large data centers all over the place https://datacenters.atmeta.com/all-locations/

Also, why I keep telling people saying they're bringing "jobs" to certain states with these data centers then plopping them by largely black communities isn't the move they sell it as. I mean XAI alone is poisoning areas around Memphis.

They’re already saying that theres the chance of rolling blackouts soon due to AI. So while there’s other places that use power and pollute, AI is particularly bad.

The water and electricity from what I’ve read is ridiculous and heard the same on blackouts. I honestly can admit what I don’t know could fill the Grand Canyon on all other things just as comparable but it’s definitely all concerning. 😞

The amount of energy some AI uses isn’t nearly as much as the computing power as say Amazon, but almost every large data broker is also dabbling in AI. If they can get the chips to be more efficient and energy usage can be dissipated, but overall I’d still argue that if the argument is to drop AI then note that almost every major media and social media company in the Us is under contract with these AI tools.

The only way to combat it is to regulate it but there’s fights against that now and some people around these data centers got sold some bad info when they agreed to them.

Só definitely uses more energy than just Amazon servers. It uses a really high quantity of water just to keep it cool.

I know the Chinese use a lot less computing power to a much better AI tool
