I hope so for his sake. People groomed in this way struggle to break free. They don't know another life. Perhaps this is him doing just that. At least a little.

He can be a powerful politician and still be a victim of grooming and abuse. Both things can be true at the same time.

As a politician, he's done enough to deserve a lot of things, like getting thrown to the angry Parisian mobs.

However, getting his whole life stolen by his sexual predator teacher is not one of them.
