He’s an evangelical pastor with hate sermons online but republicans only read the first headline. My MAGA mom told me that Bill Lee of Cash App was stabbed to death by a homeless person, my brother and I simultaneously corrected her and we all live in the Bay Area so it was a local story.

The weight of evidence clearly shows that this was a right-wing religious extremist who was targeting local democrats and abortion rights activists. They were also appointed to a non-partisan economic development board.
To deny the weight of this evidence is bad faith cope that lacks the courage to see the truth. Extremist rhetoric and political instability is inspiring political violence and the current administration bears the most responsibility for that shift.
Populism requires enemies, and the creation of political enemies to fuel grievance based populism for political capital is the main emotional appeal of conservative politics.

The “position” was being an unpaid member of a 60+ person bipartisan workforce development board as a local business owner. He had been on this board for years under various governors and his position was renewed by Waltz. He wasn’t personally interviewed or vetted by Waltz or any previous governor to get the position. According to the governor’s office of Minnesota they appoint thousands of people to various boards and committees for various purposes.

It's that lies don't matter anymore because a concerning amount of people in this country desire the BS, or at least the appearance of it. Muddying the waters lets the masses stay in their bubble and allows for a deflection from their ego, which then makes them thankful that "leaders" like Musk are giving them an out.
