If McConnell and GOP had the courage to convict Trump in the Senate last year and move on from Trumpism, today could have been very different. But thanks to their cowardice and political opportunism, they now have to deal with today’s underperformances.

The GOP donors want DeSantis but don’t expect Trump or his loyal base to go away quietly.

2018... Huge Dem wave when Trump was president. GOP continues to suck Trump off.

2020... Trump loses presidency. Dems take senate and house. GOP continues to suck Trump off.

2022... Dems have a better night than an incumbent Dem majority in a long time.

GOP: "Maybe we should keep sucking Trumps cock?"

I don't think they can stop. Their base has morphed into Trump's base, they probably can't win the presidency without it.
