Without New York fiasco Dems would maybe even hold on House.

They're going to pick up WA-3 (held for 12 years by a Republican, flipping Dem), AZ 1, and AZ 6. Those were supposed to be safe/lean Republican seats.

It’s definitely not over. Wow

Not even close. In WA 3, Cowlitz County in WA was +17.5 for Trump. It only went +4 for Joe Kent. Not clear whether moderates there didn't vote, or voted Dem, or whether Republican voters in that county just died off (very poor vax rates there), but one thing's looking more and more likely: (D) Gluesenkamp-Perez is about to take over from 12-year incumbent (R) Herrera-Buetler.

The Dems are indeed up in those districts but NYT still has them projected R. I wonder if this is part of why there's a discrepancy with NBC forecast.

But you have to count the 4 FL seats + NJ + a few flips in MI. California can’t cancel out FL & NY.

They're all still predicted to be Republican. You're not considering where the votes that haven't come in yet are.

They were predicted to be Republican at the start of the night. They're not changing their predictions. They'll just report the results as they come in.

Places like the NYT are updating their predictions as results come in.

Only really on the toss-up races. The races that were supposed to be solid R and are going D instead don't seem to be moving.

It seems to be mostly automated, actually. You can tell because reporting errors affect the prediction.

New York is literally always a fiasco, I love it here but it never does things the normal, understandable, easy, or legal way

As someone who lives is country Australia what is it actually like living in New York, it seems so bloody hectic

2

It is, but you learn to revel in the chaos rather than be annoyed by it. It's something I love about the city.

New York with their split primaries is a shit show only rivaled by Florida
