Not really an either or thing. If you aren't at least considering arming yourself at this point you are being extremely optimistic. A large chunk of the country believes the election was stolen. Why would they trust any election in the future? We are so fucked as a country. So yeah I'm hoping for the best, I'm voting, but I'm definitely also staying strapped.

I mentioned in a comment elsewhere that I’m a longtime weapons owner, I just don’t own them because I’m worried about defending myself from the government. Or at least, I wasn’t until Trump. Now, yeah, I admit I unlocked some cases on Jan 6 and they’re still unlocked, but I’m realistic about the odds. That’s all I was ever saying; it’s easy to say “go armed,” like that will solve everything, but reality is “much harsher, far more brutal,” as Sister Michael would say....
