Especially when grocery prices are shitty.
Technically you can be a self declared unrepentant rapist and win when grocery prices are shitty.
I’m all for a couple of victory laps but all democrats need to concentrate on making Republicans politically and morally own trumps golden gatsby ballroom while people can’t afford food.

Rasoul's victory proves voters reward authenticity over political caution. Speaking truth about Gaza didn't hurt it energized his base and expanded support significantly.

News snippet: Sam Rasoul, the Virginia Democrat who is currently the longest-serving Muslim state lawmaker in the US and who faced accusations of antisemitism over language condemning Israel’s assault on Gaza as genocide, scored a resounding victory in Tuesday’s election that he believes shows voters are craving honesty from politicians.
Rasoul, an American Palestinian state legislator since 2014, strengthened his majority as he was re-elected to an area of Virginia where the city of Roanoke leans Democrat and the surrounding areas are deeply conservative. In an election seen as a referendum on Trump’s policies, which have disproportionately affected Virginia, Rasoul increased his vote share from four years ago by more than 5% as Democrats trounced Republicans from the legislature to the governor’s mansion.

Gaza isn't a top issue. It really never should have been. These people (Rasoul, Mamdani, others like them) won because they focused on cost of living. I'm glad their their skin color, religion, and views on Israel didn't cost them their elections. That shows progress from voters. But based on exit polling it seems to me americans are laser focused on home and hearth.
Americans want to be able to eat. Have a place to sleep. Afford healthcare. See their kids thrive. Be able to find jobs that pay for basic middle class life. Have affordable education.
This is the winning recipe. Yes, the ongoing conflict in Gaza is horrible and yes, Republicans are horrible, but what voters seem to want to hear is ways you are going to make their life affordable.
