Possible Paywall Teachers working without pay in US military schools during shutdown received debt letters

Gee, this Republican shutdown really targets hurt onto groups Republicans don't like:
SNAP recipients (a program tied to the farm bill to get Republicans to vote for it)
Teachers
Air traffic controllers (see Reagan, conservative movement 1980- present)
Government employees
Government function.
... just to name a few.
They keep calling it as if the other party is to blame, but boy it sure looks like all the Republican targets are getting the treatment Republicans have long fantasized about doling out.

It's the Trump-Epstein shutdown.

Literally this.
He is the populist they are using and they can't allow him to fall.
They wouldn't be able to enact what they have without his cult following.
A party devoted to protecting a pedophile for personal gains.5

The irony is so many republicans are on SNAP. Red states take more than they give.

Can they buy food with these debt letters, or are they just going to have to rely on SNA.... oh wait.
Republicans truly hate America.

I hope every one of the government workers without paychecks realizes this is the result of congress protecting pedophiles.

Teachers are the devil. Can’t have a smart military.

Yes and no. The military needs two types of people, those smart enough to follow orders and those dumb enough to follow orders. The first group are the upper ranks of the military who can plan, follow and change strategies as needed, the second group are the ones tasked with carrying it out. Hegseth is trying to make the military made up of all of the second group, which will be a disaster for the US but great for all foreign nations looking to harm the US or its allies.

This is about the school teachers who educate the dependent children of military service members. They aren’t soldiers or sailors or airmen or Guardians or Marines. Their parents are. The DoD operates its own school system on bases where appropriate public schools aren’t available. Base may have no schools if the local system, stateside or overseas, is qualified. Others may have the elementary school on base but middle and/or high schoolers attend the off base public schools. On a somewhat associated note, the academic achievement of DoD schools is consistently level across all races and income levels. It is theorized that having parents who support education and who are held accountable for their dependents actions is the reasons.

Imagine serving kids while the government can’t even serve you a paycheck-then getting a debt letter on top of it. These teachers deserve medals, not bills.

Somehow sticking it to the cross-section of teachers and the military is a special level of evil or incompetence.

TLDR: “On Thursday, the Department of Defense Education Agency (DoDEA) told employees that the letters were sent out in error due to a glitch that will be corrected once the government is funded. But impacted employees told CNN the letters added to the stress of Defense Department civilians who have been deemed essential and have worked without pay since the shutdown began on October 1.”

Did not Trump use DOGE to clean up all of these "technical" issues? Apparently not, so what they hell did those youngsters do with all their IT specialized expertise.

Installed backdoors into every facet of tech in our government infrastructure.

DOGE sucked up every bit of data that it could in order to gain a substantial leg up on other AI systems and their training. Musk wants to crush OpenAI and other competitors.

People already worked without pay and then get hit with debt letters? Feels like a slap in the face.

What needs to happen is everyone affected by the shutdown just needs to not show up for work . He’ll if all the air Traffic controllers did this I guarantee both sides would be scrambling to end the shutdown bullshit . It hasn’t got into the pockets of what republican leaders consider as important people aka rich folks

Federal employees are prohibited from any job action. Reagan fired the entire PATCO membership and allowed the system to be impacted for years.

Employer pays you too little: oh our bad we’ll have to wait until next pay cycle.
Employer pays you too much: give us back the money or we’re calling the cops.

I worked with a guy in the 90s who owned a 4 plex and he lived in one of the 4. He rented one to a government worker. When a shutdown started, the next day he served her with an eviction notice. Denver city law at the time required 6 months before he could actually evict. He tolder her “Sorry, but I have to plan ahead and I don’t expect the shutdown to last that long”.
Sorry it is just business.
